We invented household appliances, TVs, radios, etc, but do NOT make them anymore. We also don't make PARTS. Very few auto parts are made here. Good luck finding a fuel pump for your American car after trade with China is frozen because of a dick-waving contest. Oh, you just need a tiny idle air speed sensor? TOO BAD, the parts stores are all empty. Ebay is out, Amazon is out, you will spend hours scouring the web and find nothing. It's already bad since the fake 'pandemic', and about to get worse...maybe.
A few days ago I spent an hour online, tryin to find a simple dryer switch for a Whirlpool. This tiny simple switch should cost 5 bux. A few suppliers have it, between 80 and 150 dollars. Just one of many examples. All are made in China. You chuckleheads have NO idea just how reliant we are on foreign sources for small simple items. It takes YEARS to get a new factory up and running in the US. The 'environmental impact studies' alone drag on forever. Meanwhile, your car will sit in the driveway, rusting merrily away, because of a defective camshaft position sensor that is not available.
Starting a few years ago, several Maserati models have been BRICKED because of one ignition control module that is failure-prone. The company that made them (I dont remember the country) went out of business. I personally know a guy that abandoned his after waiting for MONTHS for parts that simply could not be found anywhere on Earth.
There are COUNTLESS examples of today's over-engineered cars being rendered inoperable because parts are not available. The Dodge Demon head cylinder gaskets for a 3 year-old model made in US does NOT exist. Etc etc. Do not take the China thing lightly. I hope Blump and his jew crew get it under control quickly.
Reading thru that that site, ot seems they are mostly ASSEMBLED in USA. Wanna guess where most of the parts come from?
The fancy retro ones are MODERN machines with stamped shells to make them look vintage. Kenmores are PARTIALLY made in US. I am willing to bet no switches, motors, relays, etc are made in US. The next time you are in Lowes or Home Depot (where most people buy appliances), look at some labels. Find one that says MADE in USA (not 'assembled'), and I will send you a pizza.
Very nice, they cost 4-10x as much as 'normal people' appliances. Of COURSE there are boutique companies that make stuff, but they are beyond the reach of most people. Before I pay $2000 for a 'retro styling' washing machine, I will buy a used one if a new one is not available. Are parts available for these things?
They are very expensive LAUNDROMAT machines. ASSEMBLED in the Midwest, according to that page. Not MADE IN USA. Do you even know the difference? You win nothing.
Yes they do make washers and dryers for home use. Yes they are expensive. Yes they have 7 yr. warranty. Is every part of the machine made in the US? Probably not. Is every part of your Ford or Chevy made in the US? Probably not.
lol, 1400 bux for a washing machine, most people will not buy that. It is ASSEMBLED in US from mostly foreign-made parts, that is the CRUX of my whole premise.
Speeequeen are marvelous machines. Ten years ago, my appliance repair company was called in to fix a bad one in a senior community in Florida.
Huge community had four laundromats spread out, and all the machines were Speedqueens. Found what was wrong and alas, couldn't get the one part as these machines had long been replaced. Turns out no other machine in the community had ever failed and that they were all about 25 years old. 25 years, zero failures!
Told them where to buy a newer Speedqueen machine 20 miles away, and they did it. Smart people running that senior community.
Remove regulations on automobiles and new companies would spring up in a year. It's the government regulations that crimp all progress. All that anti-pollution tech, all the computers, all the mandatory crap stops you and your friends from building up new auto brands and selling them with a 'Buyer Beware" sticker. Imagine 'Voat Motors' brand. One model will be the 14-88. I'd buy one.
Not at all, but it irks me when smolbrains say 'hee hee we kin juss make all dat sheeit ourselfs!' OK, make me an ABS module for a 2004 Astro van, I need it now so I can get back on the road.
For fuck's sake, I pulled ONE example out the air. Cars have THOUSANDS of parts. Some can be repaired, some MUST be replaced. And on that note, good luck finding someone to disassemple an ignition control module that has been FILLED WITH EPOXY, as many are. 'Just drill out the epoxy, and replace the burnt transistor, dude!'---'umm no, it needs to be SWAPPED with a new one'. A new one costs 1000 dollars.
