Living up to my Avatar

I know goyslop is a common topic of discussion here on the upgoat. Out and about, I stopped at the one burger kang around that will sell whopper patties for a buck. I feel fine after eating these and salt them myself.

The carnivore diet has been great to me.

I was a believer in "himalayan" salt. Turns out its got a bunch of heavy metal and sand in it. Try Maldon restaurant salt. Good crunch.

Good call. I picked this up because it was the only option available. Will search for a shaker of quality unrefined salt to keep in my car.

Just scrape some off your boat. It's yellowish because of the vitamins.

Looks like it depends on the mining area. Maldon flakes are from sea water, hopefully away from shipping lanes.

Ah Sea Salt. All the micro-plastic make it so yummy!

I roll with standard iodized table salt.

Can you do the same at Wendy's or another chain with nothing but 100% ground beef on their menu?

I wouldn't even risk them slipping you the estrogen ladden "Impossible Burger" patties. Just one of those is like x300 the amount of daily estrogen they give Trans_faggots.

Yes. Wendy’s is decent. For a while, I was eating Wendy’s patties with raw honey and salt and dropping weight. Although they really are lacking in flavor.

McDonald’s, you can request no salt or pepper but their patties are smaller and also flavorless.

Going to buy a simple propane grill this summer.

I did the same for myself.

I grill a huge batch of burgers, and bacon strips eat them over the week. It's a huge mess to clean up but I only have to do it every 7 days or so.

You can turn that "simple grill" into a master piece maker with ideas from this youtube channel.

One of the best I've made so far is - Pepperoni Crusted Cheese Burgers - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYqISyW1xGM

I doubt that is just 100% grass fed beef - how many additives they slapped on them bad boys?.

[ - ] inaminit 4 points 1 weekApr 19, 2025 16:29:46 ago (+4/-0)

So how does one tell the difference between a beef patty and an impossible burger patty? How can you be sure of which one you're getting?

[ - ] registered_bot 5 points 1 weekApr 19, 2025 16:39:07 ago (+5/-0)

If they don't explicitly state 100% beef patties it has a definite percentage of soy and other filler.

If I remember correctly, Taco Bell's ground beef is like 20% a filler that hasn't been fully passed by the FDA, or is in a gray area, because it's not normally thought of as food. I can't remember what it is now.

[ - ] Sector2 5 points 1 weekApr 19, 2025 17:29:19 ago (+5/-0)

Taco Bell's seasoned beef filling contains 88% USDA-inspected beef and 12% other ingredients, not 20% filler. These additional ingredients include seasonings, spices, water, and other ingredients that contribute to the flavor and texture. The 12% non-beef content is a mix of ingredients that help to create the unique taste and texture of Taco Bell's seasoned beef.

"It's only 12% filler, not 20%!"

Funny AI.

It's funny the AI brings up texture, because the paper I remember reading described just that. This addiditive having a beef texture, and takes the flavor of what's around it. I want to say it's a type of chemical or plastic or something. I know Taco Bell was the only company using it as filler at the time I read the article, this was probably 3-4 years ago.

I will investigate since I do intend to eat these patties again in the coming months.

Other than explicitly stating 100% (organic) grass-fed beef with zero additives/ filler on the label - i would assume anything except buying or making your own from a trusted reputable butcher is likely not 'just a beef patty'.

I mean some people are fine with purchasing commercial grain raised/ pen farmed cattle with all types of additives, colorings, filler and flavor enhancers - and many just don't know what they don't know, unfortunately.
