So what happens with all those credit card debts? Can they just say f* off these are not my credit cards and tell the credit agencies take this b*** off my credit score because this was a crime and report it to the police? This is the important distinction between credit cards and debit cards.

Debit cards are always spending YOUR money, while credit cards are always spending the BANKS money.

Credit cards are way more secure than debit cards when it comes to money security, and any fraud typically just goes away - the bank eats it and their fraud department works to reclaim it.

Any credit cards opened by identity theft will not take money from anyone, but your thought about the credit score might still take a while to be fixed.
