My thought in posting this is exactly what I wrote. Here on UpGoat, many wonder what can one man do to make things more to their liking. It doesn't matter so much WHAT he did, just that he MADE AN EFFORT to fix what he believed to be a wrong.
And so can we.
As for public school problems, I suffered through all that shit in some very mediocre schools. Hated every minute of it. Prison for kids. Am pro-HOMESCHOOLING only now. Even better, I am pro-UNSCHOOLING now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfwrCnt6N34
Huh? What is eye opening about this ? That liberals want life to be economically unaccountable ? Thats hardly a revelation. What am I missing here? Was this just posted as a hate read? Are we reading the same article?
I find it incredibly hard to believe that they will serve food on a tray, then proceed to take it away. Might run out of nuggets and hotdogs, but taking a plate away after its served? They would have to just throw it away.

Exactly, but some power hungry lunch lady probably wants to do that all day out of spite.
Also, before the law was changed, the "debt" didn't fix anything - those were just the charges that were due. Any kid that couldn't pay still got the lunch taken away, and now the debt went from $0 to $2 or whatever for the "alternative" meal.
It would have been a better use to "pay it forward" because then the kids would actually be able to eat the meal.

On Monday, I’ll find myself arguing passionately that school lunch should be universal and free, like textbooks or desks — a basic educational supply. On Tuesday, I’ll be raising money to pay off debts in a system I just spent Monday arguing shouldn’t exist at all. The cognitive dissonance is sometimes overwhelming. Am I enabling a broken system by patching its most visible failures? Am I letting policymakers off the hook by providing a band-aid that makes the bleeding less visible?
Yes. With your enthusiasm for institutionalizing children, you might as well be openly supporting politicians.
"IT WAS LIKE THING AND OTHER THING AT THE SAME TIME!"
Possibly the most stilted writing I've had the displeasure of reading. "Why don't we just let them eat?" because food costs money, retard. Once again a liberal writer makes an appeal to a small child's understanding of reality. Disgusting.

The kids get a free meal. But if they want filet mignon and caviar, they have to pay extra.
The author was complaining that the free meal was a "cold meal". They're whining that instead of parents making their kids a cold lunch or the cafeteria supplying a free cold lunch, that kids should be getting hot, fresh out of the oven meals for free.
Either way, if a parent can't send their kids to school with food, then they shouldn't have kids.
And what's wrong with a cold sandwich? I would much rather that than a hot meal for lunch. Lunch is supposed to be quick and convenient, not a lengthy affair with hot dishes.

Exactly.
Today you see many young adults at work spending a fortune on restaurants and food delivery for lunch, instead of leftovers, sandwiches, or quick meals. And it's because they've been served fresh cooked meals every day of their lives.

Okay but on the flip side, public schools are ultimately funded off of your labor. Nothing's free. With all the bloat and graft in that system, why can't they manage to at least include a meal?
Because the people in charge don't want to. They want it this way.

How is that “on the flip side?” End public education now. We should not be paying for one single shitskin spawn to be educated or fed. These are our replacements ffs.

Literally funded by taxpayers. I don’t get it. How can this exist. It’s all a hoax. This guy just gave some random administrator hundreds for free.
