It looks like they are taking off from the old Fulton Fish Market location. They often have replica boats there as it's a tourist hub. Also a ferry landing with a lot of wake and very windy, choppy conditions.

It's hard to say, you don't put jackholes in charge of a multimillion dollar boat. These mayheekanz had to be somewhat proficient at operating it. High tide/low tide comes into play with something like this.

I saw something about a tug boat and the sailing ship drifting backwards. I think that is where this will end up. A broken line.

I can't believe they didn't have harbor tug-pilots guiding thing POS until it was 100% clear of any key infrastructure.

You'd think the Port Authority would have learned it's lesson from that Cargo ship that nearly took down a key bridge last year.
