How web sites are indexed for search engines:

1. Build your site

2. Make a sitemap file and submit to search engine

3. Wait for web crawler to verify your site exists and works through the sitemap, verifying the submitted pages exist

4. Web crawler fucks off for awhile, will come back periodically to check for changes
