I’m in the pool industry and while that may seem a disaster, there is an 8-10 ppm chlorine level in a public pool and everything will be fine. However, as someone in the pool industry, I would never go in a public pool. Public hot tubs are even worse.
When you say that I have no idea which would be better. They are all disgusting. I read water only gets changed 2x per year. Imagine swimming in 6 months of piss, only harsh chemicals keeping it at bay.
Swimmers don't piss in their own pool, only public swimming mouth breather do. This is why I always hated when PE did a swim class, I would hear the fat losers talking about how they threw up in the water before I had practice.
