Exactly. Kids can handle a certain amount of reasonably presented real shit, particularly boys. This show is not graphic or gory, but it is definitely serious, and action packed. And my little dude loves it. He calls it "Gargums", but he knows what it's really called.

Good music, voice acting, and animation too.

Gargoyles gets credit for creating the "Xanatos gambit". Way better writing than most kids' shows.

I watched those on TV as they aired. I remember having the leader one action figure. My grandparent's dog ate it's leg off, and the fingers on super shredder.

One of the great shows before the fall of media.

If youre a huge nerd its fun to know that a lot of the voice actors are also from star trek.

It's funny, I didn't watch it when I was younger because my friend would never shut up about it.

Years later hear that it was actually a great show. Had it pirated and just recently got around to it, and it's not bad so far. It had a few retarded PSA moments which I just skipped.

Some nerd in my class liked that show. I was probably much older than your kid by that point.

As an adult my wife and I looked up "Top 25 episodes" of "Adventure Time" and they were all masterpieces.
