Not many understand what Wi-Fi stands for

submitted by Conspirologist to technology 9 hoursJun 19, 2025 07:54:28 ago (+4/-2)     (technology)

Interesting fact.

Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity for IT. Like Hi-Fi stands for High Fidelity for audio electronics.

Most of people working in tech industry have no clue what Wi-Fi means.

This alone should warn people to not trust Big Tech, like Big Pharma, because they lack the necessary IQ to understand simple, obvious things.

LOL

Oh, that’s the reason not to trust them

Ok mister smart man, now tell us what radar stands for? What about taser? When acronyms become words you no longer need to use the long form.

In-Fi is grounds for divorce.

I've been adamantly avoiding that nonsense phrase, calling it either wireless or WLAN!

Other awful tech terms are like:

Bandwidth

Should be "bit rate", "data rate" or "data limit" as opposed to the actual frequency domain span of oscillations over a physical layer.

Screen resolution

Should be "pixel dimension", otherwise it means the smallest distance 1 pixel represents.

Zero-day

Should be "novel vulnerability" unless it was actually known on release day and not some later day.

Interesting true fact.

When I was at college (early 90s), I stupidly took a COBOL programming course because it fit into my difficult schedule. Besides me, there was two other White guys. The rest were pajeets (as I presume business majors because I knew none of them). Every time I would toss a failed printout of my code, the poo eaters would fight each other at the trashcan to get my non-working code because it was better than whatever their pile of shit was.

I made a meeting with the other two Whites. They noticed the same thing. We agreed to keep our discarded printouts in our bags until we could discard them elsewhere.

This alone should warn folks not to trust low-IQ dot-head niggers because they cheat at everything.

To the common normie, Wi-Fi is now a term used to describe internet service.

They say things such as "I got Wi-Fi installed at my house".

Really, you couldn't just set up your wireless router following the instructions provided in the box?

"No, like so I can get online"

Ohhhh, you mean internet. You had an ISP come out to your home to install new service. Gotchya.

I didn't know what it meant before reading your post but I also guessed correctly before reading it.

Con, without googling the answer, if you have a /27 subnet, how many usable IP addresses are on that private network?

He’s gonna ShatGPT it instead to remain compliant. (To be fair, I have no idea what the answer is, but I don’t pretend to be tech fluent.)

It doesn't help that "the powers that be" have replaced capable white men with diversity hire shitskins & women! DEI ruined Corporate America!
