Me and a based friend got espresso makers the same week and had the talk about how it's not gay, it's just effective caffeine delivery. May it power many good White People things.
At that point, are you even capable of answering questions? The pain scale really only works for a certain level of cognizance, and that level is a moving target.
Ever seen a totally chill dying person? Shock and other things can make the pain go away. Pain is for the living, so even a 9 is "how do we actually gauge this?" territory.
Fascism from fasces, symbolizing togetherness, a group spirit. As the (((powers the be))) have forever tarnished the word fascism, I've thought about other symbols for togetherness, and their associated terms, that could be used to promote a similar ideology while shedding the baggage they force on it. None have seemed as good so far.
Some years ago there was a fire at a chemical plant here that never should have happened, and I tried getting some attention on it. I went to the local government meetings asking for an explanation of what lapse of protocol allowed this, and filed reports with relevant agencies, and nobody cared.
Some citizens were worried for about two weeks, but since people didn't get obviously sick right away, they lost interest. I got the exact same process of being politely told to fuck off, then ignored, from the local level straight up to the federal.
Eventually, I gave up too. Because you can't help people who don't want to be helped.
Everyone being high all the time, even if it's just weed, has been a tragedy. Almost everyone I know is lit up in some form for most of the day and it makes them retarded. But I'm "judgemental" for telling them it's no way to live.
Man I've tried. The best I ended up with is a circle of crazies. I love them but they aren't an organized force. One issue is that people willing to say "fuck society" are usually individualists and don't have the orientation to form effective groups.
Another is that when times are tough, all hands are for your ship so there isn't a lot left for group things.
I know of some christians groups that are growing successfully, but they're all doing pretty typical things, nothing that will save anyone in the corporeal sense. I think their growth is largely jut existing when people need something to turn to.
Really you need both an enemy and a forward vision. The Springfield people rallied around anti-Hatian sentiment, but also a movement to help the homeless that have been displaced by them seems to have started, so they have a goal that raises up their own people in a addition to bringing down their opponents. It doesn't matter if the homless are usually trash, what matters to supporters is having a dynamic that reinforces your goodness in addition to the un-goodness of your out group.
Thanks for including Monero, this makes it easy for me to donate. I know this place won't become a household name, but the idea that we can encourge you to improve it and work on other things the ecosystem needs is heartening. If I'm optimistic, this is an opportunity for growth.
Thanks for the work you put in, and thanks for leaning into giving the community a chance.
As far as the attention economy goes, either IRL becomes the gold standard again, or somebody creates an easy-to-implement verification/authentication service for content that the normies can understand (paging @Prototype )
Yeah that's true to an extent, but it's unlikely the average peasant had bronze chopsticks used for eating for most of history. For cooking, sure, those were passed down like our ancestors did with crafted metal implements. Chopsticks for eating came during a resource crunch (and part of the same process that leads us to call them bug people today for their uniformity) so just because we keep finding them in tombs doesn't mean the average peasant used them.
>Discover mineral deposits
>Invent metalworking
>Dig tons of ore out of earth
>Design cuisine that requires cutting and scooping (but not too much, just enough to need specialized tools)
>Design and forge a fork and spoon
>Ah, finally I can eat.
Chinks: Break twigs off a tree and start eating.
Sometimes there is value in simplicity.
That first type of lid sucks, but IMO keeping it submerged and getting your salt right is the main thing. The spring loaded ones are good for that, if you feel you have to get a lid system.
The last time I made kimchi I just used some of the woman's icing tips to keep it submerged because they were the right height, and it worked fine. People used to just use stones to weight the veg down and they made it work, so don't feel like you have to have some plastic gimmick to lactoferment things.
