I like this quote, actually wrote it down. I call it "over thinking shit". I over think something to the point that it (my mind) paralyses what I'm trying to accomplish. I have an engine torn apart in my garage. If I don't set the timing exactly perfect, my valves will slap my pistons. (interference engine) I have thought, fussed over, timed, and retimed this engine a few times. Watched many utube videos, have factory service manual, and have actually timed engines same as this 1 many times. Over thinking shit. In the old days, ethanol would rot all plastic fuel lines, rubber hoses, the hoses would just "crumble" if you grabbed a hold of them. I have replaced every fuel line/hose and ALL emission rubber hoses because they were rotten on the inside. I paid $6.39 a gallon yesterday for premium, 91 octane. Every tank I have I will let it get down to half a tank and go fill up. I alternate octane by getting 87 in one fill up, next time I will get premium, 91. $5.99 a gallon for 89 octane. My 35 year old engines are particular, still pass emissions too, our County got rid of emissions earlier this year.
ALWAYS use ethanol free in your small engines, lawnmowers, chainsaws and such. Surely by now, the small engine people make hoses better now that can withstand the water content from ethanol. IDC. I'm not taking the chance.

The scandal went something like this: a new TOW repairman dropped a lens. (this was 35 years ago) The lens at the time costs $5,000. IF, big IF, IF he had just owned up to his mistake, it would have been fine, naturally, because it was just an accident. But no, this newb bought some super glue, and glued the lens back together, and wrote up the TOW as good to go, A OK Perfect condition after his repairs.
Imagine you have a pair of binoculars, you look thru the lens, and see a giant crack through the lens, held together with glue. This lens was about 5 inches round = HUGE lens = HUGE crack. Needless to say the TOW didn't make it through final inspection. Repairman was given Article 15, busted down in Rank, forfeited 2 months pay. Only because he didn't admit his mistake, tried to cover it up. What an idiot.
