I wonder if it's even possible for a movie to actually be scary. And by scary, I mean, inspires fear. Jumps scares don't count, they don't inspire fear, they are startling, at best, but mostly just annoying.
There's this old movie with Jennifer Lopez called "The Cell" that actually gave me nightmares. I paid $6.50 to see an R rated movie starring J-lo and I didn't even get to see her titties. Pretty fucked up if you ask me.
Something tells me you don't process humor, sarcasm, and social situations very well. I'm going take a leap of faith here and assume you like trains and shower infrequently.
When I was ~4, I couldn't finish the fucking Blob because it was too scary. There were a couple things as an adult that creeped me out afterwards. You know, when you're walking up your stairs alone in the dark and you think of that weird scene? Get the heart beating a bit; it's exciting.
I try to explain to the little rucks to see movies as exciting instead of scary. The things that should scare them don't, but they were so sad Bert dies in the newest tremors movie (Spoiler Alert).
I would recommend going to your basement in the dark with a projector. Do this late at night, alone. Watch stir of echoes. Peckerwood mentioned the cell. I'm sure others will come up with examples that aren't fucking garp.
Report back if you felt at least a little creeped out walking up the stairs in the dark afterwards.

I saw so many horrors as a youngster that it got to be where certain scenes - not so much whole movies or premises - scared me. The scene in the blob where the child dies in the sewer was one of those. The movie as a whole was actually a bit silly; I found it comical. But that scene. It had everything. The claustrophobia and smothering, all while it's melting you, but you know that its a little kid it's happening to.
You hardly ever saw kids get it back then. Even today it's still fairly rare. The Walking Dead had a pretty brutal child death, and that also bothered me.
The Descent will make you uncomfortable, possibly scared (esp. in dark). Close Encounters of the Third Kind scene when they come to get the kid, freaked me out. And the spiderwalk scene from the Exorcist still pops into my head while walking up stairs.
Totally worth the two and a half minutes. Goats, give that a watch.
I remember really rooting for what's her name in The Descent. I could really scare the kids with that after I first verify there's no literal fucking or kikery.
Same, no movie ever got me really scared. But Silent Hill on playstation one had me scared several times. Even wanted to enhance the experience and darkend the room, couldn't take it and had to take a brake and could only play it with the lights on. Those fucking child ghosts in the school were the worst.

You can read the script, but you are living the movie.

Is the zoo around you free, or do you have to pay to get in. Something tells me you don't mind the expense.

So I guess kids being murdered disturbs me.
Must be why I hate the Jews.

The original Alien, however, scared the fuck out of me as a kid.
3, Resurrection, and Covenant, however, terrify me. The knowledge that someone thought they were good ideas is absolutely horrifying.
