Too bad for them because they had power they could have used and profited hugely by being pro individuals. They're a privately owned American company.
With everyone turning on the globalist tyrants they would have amassed long term loyalty.
THey lost it when they licensed low moral Euro trash to market a line under their name. Hip Hop, graffiti, celebrity worship, nigger tier shit. Their London store was looted so they sold Tshirts with a photo of the looting on them, like it was cool and groovy.
THey don't deserve anyone's money, because they don't value it
No one buys that overpriced bullshit when there are better more durable work clothes. I work on oil rigs at Prudhoe Bay Alaska. Nobody buys that stupid 300 dollar shit except overalls made by a different company that actually makes good shit. And good boots. Neither made by Carhartt
Anyone know of any alternatives? Looking for a very warm coat that's not puffy and doesn't look like something a European bobsled team would wear. A 100% merino wool lining would be nice, but coat companies seem to want to use interior materials for some reason.
Smarter to layer, use the outer layer for wind/water (no insulation), then the next 1 or 2 as insulation with a base layer that wicks sweat away.
And how much do you want to spend? Filson is a USA company, and while they're absolutely going fashion with the majority, if you stick with a Shelter cloth (medium) or Tin cloth (top quality), you're going to be in a top tier jacket. Better yet and best if you're on a budget, buy a used example. Get back to a model that used Actual sizes (chest measurements, like you'd find in a suit jacket) and you're going to be getting better quality. If the cuffs or hem are a little worse for wear, it's common to have that resolved by adding leather as a replacement. There's a business in the NE somewhere that will do that (and any other repairs, rewaxing, etc...) for a reasonable price, you'll have to dig for them if you want to go this route.
Then, add the liner of your choice. I use silk and wool if spending any real time in the elements, usually 4 layers under the jacket, but cotton is more common for my day-to-day life. Usually a T-shirt, flannel lined shirtjack (which is an outer layer in and of itself as needed) and then my Filson
There may be other options, but I'm in a Filson because they make TALL options, and at 6'4" that's something worthy of mention for me.
I usually wear layers: I'm tired of that. I just want a good coat that I can throw on, go to the gym, and take it right back off without spending too much time in the locker room. I'll still probably have to layer when it gets extremely cold, but either way I need a new coat. I'll look into Filson, thank you.
