I agree with this being a possibility, but I would not underscore that what we are calling stupidity here also appears to be a general mentality with cross-talk between other personality factors. I noticed most of the people in my life who were vaxxed tended to be the type to make decisions on social evidence: what is the crowd doing? Arguments ad populum are the strongest kind for convincing these people. It's tremendously annoying, and anathema to the way I approach the world, but I know for a fact that some of the worst offenders in this group have reasonably good IQs.

[As an aside, I consider the group with IQ between mean and one standard-dev to be a particularly 'dangerous' group for society in terms of their programmability. They are usually college educated and feel superior because of it. I've heard them called the Midwit class, and they are very susceptible of judging things based on what they perceive as the appropriate judgement to make for people in their social class. People in this group seem to be likeliest of judging their own intelligence as superior.]

Once one received the jab and became confronted by the barrage of evidence about the dangers/risks that began to materialize throughout the last half of 2021, it created a phenomenon of escalating commitment.

Many of these people could not suddenly become 'independent thinkers'; rather, to ease their cognitive dissonance meant doubling down on their reliance on the social machine for justification. This can appear like an increase in stupidity (and perhaps you'd argue this mentality is just stupid), when I consider it to be an amplification of social pressures. In other words, these people's commitments to being with the crowd are making it less and less feasible for them to think critically.

In effect, it will appear like greater stupidity when the material facts about their brains may not have changed. I'm not jumping to the conclusion that this is a result of the vax. Instead, I'm witnessing an escalation in a psychological event that is reminiscent of the Salem Witch Trials. Once these group-lvl events get started, they rarely stop until they are devastated by some outside force.

Mindless driving while looking you right in the eye. I was actually telling someone about this just the other day. It's like they are all robots on autopilot. On the short 5-minute drive to my gym I have to pass through several four-way stops, and I'll always see at least 1 or 2 (or more) drivers do a perfunctory stop but then just roll on through without actually looking around, or even better, looking right at me and pulling out in front of me, even if I clearly arrived at the intersection first and I'm already moving. It's wild. And definitely getting to be more often.
