Odds are good if someone has a sign that says they're not responsible for something and it doesn't cite the specific law that says that they're not responsible -- that they are. For instance, parking lots that charge you money are responsible for theft if they are negligent in allowing it, no matter what their sign says. Not always responsible, but the sign doesn't function as a license to be negligent either.

I agree. I often got discriminated against for being a woman though, despite being 1000 times faster than the boys at collecting carts and I never dinted or scratched a car, I was told it was a boy job. Being paid to be outside exercising was much better than talking to NPCs or stocking shelves. Would have been nice if they could have occasionally washed the high vis jackets and vests.

The whole cart thing is a symbol of our country’s loss of customer service expectations. Back in the day, the grocery stores competed for your money by who had the best service. I remember a store called Alpha-beta back in the 80’s that had higher food prices, but they had much better service. Part of that service was loading your groceries, friendly neighborhood talk, and cart return. Same with gas stations, you would get some hs or college guy that would run out, clean your windows, check your tires and oil, and fill up the tank while you sat in the car listening to Kenny Rodgers on the 8 track smoking.

So Cart return was an expected service up until the late 90’s because we still pay premium prices on groceries and some expect premium service still. The guy in this video is basically harassing boomers and gen x people for wanting a world they don’t live in anymore. It’s fucking sad and I hope that dude gets kicked in the nuts for his ignorance of American history.

I'm surprised this guy didn't get shot. There's some laws in play; if you threaten to damage someone's vehicle, and their vehicle is a primary means of their access to income, they can legally shoot you. Magnets and stickers aren't really dangerous, but if the owner says that he doesn't want them on his car, and that he'll shoot/hurt you if continue to do it against his property, he can fire. After the first couple of angry warnings, this does move towards assault --> angry guy is capable of retaliating because the camera guy is intentionally creating conflict.

Both of these guys are dumb, but it really seems like the cameraman wants to catch a bullet. He does that to an Asian guy, he's probably not going to have a face.
