The difference between right wing and left wing atheism is that the left wants the vacancy of God and the structure of religious institution filled.

The left is desperate to be seen as moral, they are obsessed with their steadfast belief in an objective evil that they are obligated to fight against.

They see the lack of god, religious community, objective morality, and objective purpose as a tragic thing, a problem that needs to be fixed, a vacancy to be filled.

That's what leads them to slave moralities like hedonistic utilitarianism and marxism, and to normative ethics in general.

They still crave some objective order, some greater meaning, and to be seen as a moral individual is still a requirement for their feeling of fulfillment.

They are the non-religious of a religious mindset. Exactly what Neitzsche warned us about. He said these types would overtake us and name us slaves if we let go of God's relevance in our daily lives.

It's the religious impulses, being freed of the constraints of religion, the human desire to be controlled being unleashed from all that would hold it back in the past.
