AHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh, its serious? Go ahead and search "underwater mortgage". Congrats, you're a winner!

[ - ] Belrick 3 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 19:30:12 ago (+3/-0)

In America the house is mortgaged.
In New Zealand the person is mortgaged.

Meaning at least Americans get to walk away from a bad mortgage

How's the tranny running the country into the ground doing?

[ - ] frankenham 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 19:23:56 ago (+0/-0)

Idk much about mortgages and everything but can't you get your house refinanced if this happens?

[ - ] bobdole9 4 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 20:28:41 ago (+4/-0)

If you refinance, you're refinancing the current debt. You're on the hook for the amount you and your lender agreed to unless you go through foreclosure or pay off the amount of the mortgage.

Ohhhh I thought it worked like fat logic you drink the diet coke and all the fried food and cake gets canceled out.

🙄

If people are this stupid we are fucked.

Walk away from your current mortgage, and get into another house within 90days,the Debt will go back to the debbitors, you will have a default on your credit history however, that blemish is NOT forever.

There are no stupid questions.

Except this. This is a stupid question.

[ - ] FalseRealityCheck 1 point 2.9 yearsJun 18, 2022 01:18:21 ago (+1/-0)

There are no stupid questions, only stupid people....

A house is worth exactly whatever you can convince someone else to pay for it.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 18:27:52 ago (+1/-0)

Also helps if yours is best in some category. People spend a lot for dumb reasons.

[ - ] Belrick 2 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 19:31:45 ago (+2/-0)

People spend a lot for one reason really.

All house purchases are bidding wars and by granting ever larger amounts of loans people can bid ever larger amounts

[ - ] UncleDoug 1 point 2.9 yearsJun 18, 2022 05:14:13 ago (+1/-0)

A bit like modern art.

Kids need to be taught about investments as a required High School course, for those without fathers.

I could teach it. It would be called, ‘Water, Canned Goods, Ammo and You’

American public schools started out and remain as a means to direct cattle more efficiently into the working class

They don't want youth knowledgeable and competent because you're easier to control that way. You're more likely to buy everything with credit and perpetually pay them for nothing.

[ - ] AOUsNameIsDavid 4 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 17:25:16 ago (+4/-0)

All westernized public schools that run of Rockefeller funded curriculum are like this and have been this way for at least half a century of solid programming.

[ - ] Peleg 3 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 18:17:11 ago (+3/-0)

Oh yeah! Just like when you buy, say, a game system at walmart and then two weeks later it goes on sale for $50 less than what you paid. You just take your receipt back to walmart and give you the difference! See! Just like that!
People do it all the time! HAHAHA!

[ - ] germ22 2 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 18:21:49 ago (+2/-0)

I think a few stores actually have a policy like that.

Amazon does not do this. They'll accept the return for no reason and send you a new one for the sale price. But they won't take the easy route of refunds

[ - ] germ22 1 point 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 18:59:08 ago (+1/-0)

Canadian Tire, and Walmart come to mind, maybe also Princess Auto. I didn't check any of my claims, because i don't really care enough.

No what happens in Texas is you buy a house for 200k and then 6 years later it's worth 500k cuz faggot California's are buying all the property and then you have a 8k property tax bill

[ - ] Sector7 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 18, 2022 09:21:15 ago (+0/-0)

Or you buy the house in Texas for $200K, then spend $300K driving to a place where the weather is tolerable.

[ - ] Prairie 1 point 2.9 yearsJun 18, 2022 09:52:12 ago (+1/-0)

And if the house gets more expensive before you pay it off, you owe more. /s

[ - ] o0shad0o 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 19, 2022 10:14:13 ago (+0/-0)

It's not impossible you can negotiate with the mortgage company for a refinance, if you threaten to dump the house on them when it's worth less than the balance of the mortgage. Might mess with your credit though, even if they agree.

[ - ] Merlynn 1 point 2.9 yearsJun 18, 2022 05:15:30 ago (+1/-0)

Never buy a house when the market's inflated.

[ - ] Not_a_redfugee 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 18, 2022 00:30:44 ago (+0/-0)

I guess im an idiot then. I think its a good question

[ - ] Shotinthedark 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 22:59:47 ago (+0/-0)

It's insured so I'd say Jewish lightning

[ - ] 1Icemonkey 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 23:55:39 ago (+0/-0)

I have three buildings on my property, arch insured at 460k. Two are houses, one is a barn/garage that isn’t suitable for rats. If I torched it with everything inside it I’d come out with a nice huge metal shop building and all new everything inside it.

[ - ] Shotinthedark 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 18, 2022 01:27:42 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah but nobody would do that .

[ - ] obvious 0 points 2.9 yearsJun 17, 2022 22:34:44 ago (+0/-0)
