Yeah. Ive noticed AIs tend to sound like blithering fools adverse to comprehending and thinking. Then again so do many people. Not all AIs though. Some are quite coherent which is scary when I think about how such things can be manufactured in bulk. Especially so when a single AI can have a profound affect. People will no doubt use them in malicious and ill intended ways.
Yeah. I gave it some thought. While we are already at the point where no accusation or even so called recorded evidence can be trusted its going to get worse. I can kinda understand the wish for false news laws. Anyone can be made out to be an angel or a demon through fabrication. Any event falsified. False flags all day every day and aside from those who trust nothing the world will reenact the behaviour shown when The War of the Worlds was aired on radio. You can even provide the feature length film and accompanying AI generated sound track to prove those events.
On the bright side there will eventually be nothing the government can do to prevent people from looking at whatever type of fiction they want and will eventually fuck off due to their impotence.
It's not like they couldn't do so already. Fabricating things isn't exactly a new thing. I'm more concerned about how you can shift public opinion through bot use and how those bots are already indistinguishable from humans. Give the bots voices and video and the influence will extend. And that's just tech we have today. Just wait for what will be possible ten years from now. Or fifty.
Well yeah I covered all that. The real fun is when people refine the ability to turn the virtual into the physical and vice versa. Should we be around long enough there should be those with the ability to play god with robot swarms dedicated to deconstruction and production. Mass producing mature sentient life complete with their own inserted memories will probably be possible one day but by the time we get there technology will have far scarier creations. There may come a day where people can trust nothing not even the reality shown by their senses or memories due to the blurring of the real and virtual.
