Literally no one except Jewish art students do this. Thermite is not a conventional explosive used for demolition. You would only do this if you know they are going to test for explosives and you want the Ammonia Nitrate test to come back negative.

Yeah, and I am one of them! Thermite is fun and easy/cheap to make. Your comments however reveal that you are NOT one of the folks that have ever played around with thermite. I was not saying "no one uses thermite" I was saying "no one makes linear thermite charges" Anyone who has played around with thermite knows it would not be practical to cut the head off a statue with thermite... you would spend more time up there setting it up than it woudl take to just hack it off with a hack saw.

lol. "Do you know who I am!?!?" Sorry, I don't mean to throw shade we need to stick together and not in-fight. but seriously... I am not a demolition expert but I did just go look and I have played around with it in the back yard and as far as I can tell no one commercially uses "Thermite cutting charges" and the subject only comes up in grad school research papers or discussions of how the WTC buildings came down. To my own experience, it is fairly simple to weld pieces of metal together with thermite and very difficult to get thermite to cut metal in half.
