At this point, no matter who you want to think is the good guy or bad guy. The US is openly bombing Russia’s infrastructure without so much as taking a slap. So the only way Russia can stop just being picked off to nothing is to hit the US with some massively escalated show of force. My bet is the US doesn’t take a broken jaw as well as they think. But it would have to be on the scale of vaporizing the largest US base in the Middle East or something. But it has to cost the US in the 10s of billions cause lives mean nothing to ZOG.
