Ukraine and Russia are both weaker than ever. That's why the US and Europe helped egg on that war. Russia is now a bit weaker and all it cost was Ukraine. They are just fine with that.

The western news reports about this conflict are and have been outright fiction and lies for the entire year. NATO is running out of weapons because the US and Europe don't have the manufacturing base to fight a real war that uses a lot of materials like ammo. This is a fact that is openly admitted. Russia does not have this issue and that is a major reason they are winning.

Winning means accomplishing your goals. Russia's stated goal is to "demilitarize" Ukraine, which means kill their entire army and blow up all of their shit. That's already been accomplished against the Ukraine army and now they're doing it to the NATO army.

At any time, Russia can finish off the electric grid of Ukraine, which will lead to mass evacuations of the people into the EU territory. That is likely to happen within a month.

Russia has good hardware, but shit leadership, tactics, and logistics. Ukraine has western weapons and advice being shoveled at them from every NATO country. Not good advice, either.

Russia is putting undesirables on their front line mixed in with a few talented men and pruning bad leadership.

Ukraine is using mass conscription and mercenaries along with ungodly amounts of aid.

Russia's goal is to sharpen their military, take a buffer zone to protect crimea and the russian heartland and make the west's economies bleed out. The get a free bonus of westerners hating the conflict so much that it is highly likely the west will enter unrest and kill the current leaders who provoked the conflict in the first place.

Ukraine is also pushing expendable dissidents on the front line telling them in thei bunkers we will have national socialist ukraine and legalizing gay marriage behind their backs in the midst of a war. The natsoc ukrainians were being groomed as white ISIS but covid had to be moved up and russia saw american weakness in afghanistan and realized there was no better moment to strike.

Russia has taken some knocks in ukraine but they are fighting and their economy is doing better than every western nation's.

No, that is only true until the modern weaponery runs out. When it does, war revert back to ww2 era tactics. It's been calculated a while back, in a total war scenario, they have about 6 month of modern weapon available.
