But companies do this kind of thing all the time in order to make it more difficult to mess up their 'intellectual properties' with smut and what have you. I had to register a big pile of .porn domains when that TLD became available, I guess ostensibly just so that other people would not register them with our brand names... which is kind of retarded, but I am happy to spend the company's money for them in super wasteful and retarded ways if that's what they tell me to do.
