There's different variation of it and it's not something that's entirely monolith in how communist countries are run. But there are core elements which makes communism, communism.

1. A central bank with implementation of property tax and income tax.
2. Overwhelming state control of companies and organizations.
3. State control over education and control or being heavily influential over public information sharing.
4. Denunciation of real nationalism, i.e. nationalism based on race.

Russia has a central bank, it has an income tax and it has property tax.
