We do quail because we live in suburbia and they are quiet and easy to keep on the sly. Ordinances against chickens, unless you register and take a class and whatnot. Plus the quail give eggs in less than two months, where chicken takes longer.
I usually start my tomatoes and peppers inside, as our Minnesota growing season can be short. This year I'm doing sweet peppers instead of the bell, so we'll see how that goes. Peas and beans and cucumber once the weather breaks.

I must have the "heterosexual" farmer traits; my seeds only work when I stick them in dirt, like nature intended.

I saw one like that as well. Not sure I believe it, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt.
You can buy eggs for hatching from eBay, and that is common. You can get all kinds of eggs from eBay, if you have the equipment and room.
