My old cell phones still work perfectly

My old cell phones from 90's / 00's still work perfectly. Modern smartphones need to be replaced every couple of years. This is insane. Obviously the sheeple don't understand that corporations are fucking with them.

I don't know about that. Between the 80s and 2000, I went through around 9 cell phones. You could, however, drop one of those flip phones on the concrete and it would just get dents in the plastic.

Rarely use them for talking though. Pretty much all you could do with them back then, and the $1200 bills reflected that.

My friend's wife ran over his walkietalkie flip phone, remember those? Ran over it with her Miata. The device was a little bit jacked up looking, but it continued to work fine for years afterward. They don't make 'em like they used to!

Anything like the MicroTAC? I grabbed one of those around 1990. A few years later some local guys started talking about creating a camera that could fit into a cell phone.

I thought they'd be easier to find; they were such ubiquitous devices, at least with IT teams in data centers and stuff. Finally found this pic

I had one that looked a lot like that. It fell out of a tall truck I had and bounced about 20 feet across the parking lot. Scratches, but zero effect on operation. Very satisfying 'snap' when you flipped it closed. lol
