I would love to grow a peach tree.

It seems that every tree with fruit that I plant either gets destroyed by deer, or fuzzy tailed tree rats steal all my fruit.

At least the tree rats leave me a few figs, but have not tried a peach tree yet. Maybe next year.

Yes, I had a tree fence as well, the fuckers brought stomped that shit down. I guess if ever comes to SHTF, at least there is a good stock of deer around, and at that point I won't mind following a blood trail through the neighbors yards.

6 years ago, I threw three rotten peaches out into the yard and forgot about them.

4 years ago, I bought a peach tree from a local store and planted it.

3 years ago, I realized that the three peaches I threw out there grew into trees. I now had 4 peach trees.

2 years ago, I realized 2 more trees grew from the first three. That makes 6 peach trees.

Last year, I let them all fruit as much as possible. I gave away 600 peaches, kept about 200 for myself. Between that and another 100 or so that fell early, rotted on the tree, etc, I threw about 300 pits out into the woods behind my house.

I really wanna see how many peaches are gonna be around in a few years.

This might be the first year we actually get fruit from it. Year before last, a storm blew everything off of it and that was that. It lived, and then the next year, another storm was nearly as bad, but there were 5 surviving peaches. Vermin destroyed those.

So... thus year we finally find out! I hope.

Getting tons of blackberries right now. I should take a picture of those tomorrow.

To maintain stone fruit health, spray the tree before it gets its new seasons leaves with a Bordeaux mix (copper sulfate, lime and water), this stops the bugs ravaging the plant.

I have a Chester dwarf, thornless blackberry, a god-tier health food bush up there with blueberries.
