Beep! One night, late after it was very dark and everyone was sleeping. My fire alarm beeped. BEEP. One of 7, I have seven rooms in my house, beeped. It awoke me from a deep sleep. BEEP Alarmed I AM! Was that the low battery alert from one of my fire alarms? It couldn’t be. I changed all the backup batteries at daylight savings time like I always do. I buy the 12 volt batteries every year during Costcos yearly sale. What happened? BEEP. What the hell?

Turns out the tabs connecting the battery to the alarm are corroded. I cleaned them up. Good as new. Sorry to scare you all.

Oops 9v I was trying to work out away to put them all on solar with a 12v battery backup. I would need a dc to dc converter. So I had 12v in my head when thinking about smoke detectors.

Hid it up in the drop down ceiling in Mr. Manager Asshole's office. Watched what little composure he had deteriorate over about three months. Watched him get fired for losing his shit on a client.
