They apparently showed Liberty Safe proof of valid warrant so this is far less egregious then Google giving up your info to the Police WITHOUT a warrant.

[ - ] lolxd 9 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 11:43:40 ago (+9/-0)

Even if it's a valid warrant, it's a worthless safe if someone else can open it.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 2 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 17:15:01 ago (+2/-0)

Even without Liberty Safe, a locksmith or a safe cracker could have been called in.

[ - ] lolxd 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 8, 2023 13:34:41 ago (+1/-0)

Yes, but when the Feds lose their case in court they have to pay restitution for the destroyed safe. Eventually even the Feds that go and print money run out of money to pay bills.

Post is just a screen cap... do you have a link to actual info?

I did a Google search and the first three news articles casually mentioned that there was a warrant.

Lol…”safes”.

[ - ] Sleazy 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 17:09:42 ago (+1/-0)

I wonder if they would still be able to give out the access codes if their business were to go away like all the food processing plants the past few years

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 18:06:50 ago (+1/-0)

We had a family member forget his combination for his Liberty Safe.

The recovery process took WEEKS.

The amount of documentation he had to provide to prove his identity, proof of purchase, and etc. was enough for him to give the safe away and buy from another manufacturer.

Saw that today im very disappointed in them.

Need more info... did the FBI have a search warrant? Did the FBI issue a subpoena? It is possible Liberty Safe was strong armed by the FBI and had no choice. Until we get more facts we don't know if Liberty Safe are boot licking collaborators or if they are victims themselves.

[ - ] BeholdIAmHere 4 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 11:49:56 ago (+4/-0)

Why in the hell would Liberty Safe even connect the safe codes like that? what possible reason could an offsite storage system need to a wifi connection? And how did it even connect to the "cloud" in the first place?

Liberty safe did it on purpose specifically so the goon squad could come and take his guns away. My days of patience are rapidly closing

[ - ] Glowbright 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 12:22:36 ago (+1/-0)

That's not how this work. That's not how any of this works.

When a safe manufacture makes a safe they keep record of the combination for each safe serial number. When law enforcement presents a search warrant and a serial number the safe manufacturer is obligated to provide the safe combo. This has been the case forever and is true across the industry

[ - ] BeholdIAmHere 2 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 12:25:44 ago (+2/-0)

Outside nefarious reasons, there is absolutely zero reasons a safe manufacturer would ever need to store codes and attach serial numbers to the code for the safe. This is nothing more than another bootlicking company working with the feds against their customers

[ - ] HelpAcct123 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 12:52:48 ago (+1/-0)

They are not obligated to do shit. There isn't a law saying they had to disclose the combo. This is an internal company policy to give that info out based on a valid warrant.

[ - ] TheGreatWar 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 18:15:19 ago (+1/-0)

Isn't the serial number inside the safe though? My guess is they had some purchaser information because the guy bought it new and Liberty looked it up that way.

[ - ] Rotteuxx 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 11:45:46 ago (+1/-0)

Only a warrant to search a property not owned by them.

[ - ] Hand_Of_Node 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 13:07:13 ago (+1/-0)

FBI had a warrant for the address where the safe was located. Liberty Safe says:
"Our company protocol to provide access codes to law enforcement if a warrant grants them access to a property."

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. They could crack/break into the safe anyway with that warrant. They were getting into that safe regardless of they had a code or not

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 17:36:05 ago (+0/-0)

That's what I said why even bother with a warrant for a home safe. This ain't Saddam Hussein's vault.

Reprogram the electronics so a master code arms the claymores insdide.

Rewire the number buttons so their backdoor code is something different.

Why do they have the access code?

[ - ] PearofAnguishJuniorManager 5 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 17:07:15 ago (+5/-0)

I’ve had the same Liberty safe for 25 years. It’s got the electronic push button combo, rather than the dial. I programmed the 6 digits myself. Those pricks must have added a ‘back door’ code.

[ - ] localsal 3 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 17:19:22 ago (+3/-0)

Surprised that you think they wouldn't.

Engineering questions:
How is it powered? What happens when power goes away? How does it open then?
What happens when someone forgets their code? Oh, I know - we'll add a supersecret code to every safe for us to use in case of reset.

Isn't this the same principle as all those "TSA Approved" luggage locks? Where the TSA has the master key for all of them?

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 19:48:03 ago (+1/-0)

How is it powered?

Battery

What happens when power goes away?

you put in a new battery

How does it open then?- The real question is what happens when the board on the keypad is damaged?

*A locksmith shows up and as he puts it, "this is your one freebee. next time the safe will have to be destroyed to open it.

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 18:08:44 ago (+1/-0)

There is one. My father had to deal with Liberty Customer Service to open his safe with a master code a few years ago.

The entire process is a nightmare that took weeks.

[ - ] PearofAnguishJuniorManager 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 20:34:37 ago (+1/-0)

I’ll bet. I guess you would have to prove you were the owner and not some nigger calling customer support to open up some other niggers safe.

I paid cash for mine, I have no receipt, and I never send in those warranty cards. I guess I need to open it up and sit inside while my wife takes my picture, maybe another one of the serial number with my face pressed against it. Those two pics should prove ownership to any reasonable man.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 17:33:43 ago (+0/-0)

Why do the cops need an access code?

[ - ] DivineLight2 0 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 15:20:51 ago (+0/-0)

How very Aryan of you. If you're anything like your namesake it'll be that pink complexion shining through.

[ - ] VitaminSieg 14 points 1.7 yearsSep 6, 2023 11:31:27 ago (+14/-0)

The naming is important. 'Liberty safe', not interested at all in actual Liberty. 'AryanPrime', not at all Aryan. 'TexasBlood', not Texan in any way that name connotes. 'Touchgrass', absolute jewish basement dweller. Jews lie.
