EU government just made an absurd law for drivers

The bastards have made the absurd law that now to renew your driving license, you have to repeat the driving and theory tests. Do you realize they are openly fucking with people?

It seems kind of plausible. Some elderly people develop severe mental illness, fleeting eyesight and/or judgment. They shouldn’t have a license just because they acquired it 60 years ago. This should only be imposed on senior citizens and not the general population though.

Unless things have changed, in Germany you never need to renew your driving license. It's good for life. So how would this new law come into place?
