The new F-150 I ordered two months ago was delivered yesterday.

submitted by TheOriginal1Icemonkey to TellUpgoat 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 00:52:52 ago (+17/-1)     (TellUpgoat)

Extra cab, 6 1/2 ft bed, 4x4, got the 5.0 liter with 3:73 gears. Got a lumber rack and getting the Line-x next week. Truck hauls ass. Sounds like it has a flow master as it is, no need to upgrade. Although the 3.5 eco boost has more torque, I don’t care for how it drives with the turbos running full time. Besides, it sounds like crap. V-6s belong in minivans. Went with the upgrade B&O stereo system as well. Tow package, tailgate step and a few other minor options. All in all I think I Meade the right choice. I’ve been driving a high mileage truck that needed replaced a few years back. This was long planned and like my other trucks, I’ll probably keep it for 15-20 years.

Buying a modern Ford and thinking you made the right choice is a complete Juxtaposition of reality.

At least you didn't go double bad choice and buy the turbo 6.

Bro, I put 225k miles and 300k miles on two F-150s at the same time in the last 20 years, I think I deserve a new truck and I can afford it. Are you jelly? What, should I have bought a Dodge or Chevy? What exactly is your point? Sure, I like old vehicles, classic
S if you will, but I don’t work on old shit, I just need to drive.

[ - ] FuckShitJesus 4 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 03:02:30 ago (+7/-3)

You just doubled down on stupid by demonstrating your ignorance. Bravo.

Ford F-150 today is nowhere near as well built as F-150 20 years ago.

This is why you idiot boomers suffer. Complete lack of self awareness.

The entire purchase price of the vehicle you probably just financed for 8 years @ 7+% is as meaningless to me as a steak dinner would be to you. Yes. Totally jealous. Totally. Idiot.

F150s are better now than they were in the Early 2000s the transmissions would die like clockwork at just over 100k miles back then.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 0 points 1.7 yearsOct 3, 2023 00:42:34 ago (+0/-0)

Both my early 2000's F-150's had tranny replacements/rebuilds at way less that 100k. I get it.

Ford F-150 today is nowhere near as well built as F-150 20 years ago.

This, it goes for all makes & models. Planned obsolescence is in everything now coupled with ridiculous maintenance procedures to discourage DIYers.

Loving my late 80s 7.3 idi, built like a rock with no electronics, only faggots want that space shuttle feel.

Section 179 will pay for it if you know what you're doing so it's all tax money anyways

You talk about the trucks but not the owners. I wonder why... Ford owners earn more and have better looking wives than Chevy, GM, and Ram owners. Ram is Low IQ nigger tier in the Dodge Charger category. GM owners are drunks and outlaws who are so dumb they constantly get caught, and it's the only truck worthless enough that the bail bondsman won't take it. Chevy owners are faggots.

[ - ] HeyJames 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 09:28:29 ago (+1/-0)

I have a dodge and a few foods. Have had a chevy too. They're all good trucks

The Best car I ever had was a 1965 dodge dart.
I miss that little car.

The tundra was my favorite truck I've ever had. I like my Silverado too. I probably won't ever buy another ford. They turning radius is garbage. They have shit style. Plus they are more money. I can't really think of Any redeeming qualities.

[ - ] Kozel 4 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 02:31:51 ago (+4/-0)

are you gonna wrap it in the tranny flag so you can be ford tough?

It's built FORD TOUGH™ just like the F-150.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 3 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 06:55:16 ago (+3/-0)

It has $25,000 worth of sensors that will all eventually fail and need to be replaced

[ - ] Sleazy 3 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 01:02:37 ago (+3/-0)

let me guess, 80 grand?

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 3 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 01:12:09 ago (+3/-0)*

Less. You know, I originally didn’t want 4wd but it was a $1600 upgrade. And, you don’t spend any more money by ordering it built.
I added the 8yr/125k mile extended warranty, 600w system, lumber rack, wheel well liners, and some other stuff too. With tax and warranty, 73k.

Edit:4wd, not 49rs. Stupid iPad.

Fucking stupid, I know. But I havent bought a truck in 18 years, so it literally tripled in price. And I’ll keep it forever.

[ - ] Sleazy 5 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 02:22:40 ago (+5/-0)

Hope its lasts and is a good dependable truck for you.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 3, 2023 00:47:29 ago (+1/-0)

Thanks. The last two were 18 ad 22 years each.

[ - ] Kozel 2 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 02:35:38 ago (+2/-0)

And, you don’t spend any more money by ordering it built.

If you buy what is available in the lot you can get a really good deal. When I bought my car before covid they had $3500 off of in-stock cars and $7500 off in-stock SUVs. I hustled some dealerships and got it up to $4000 off and bought a 20k car for 16k.

But that's not really applicable to trucks. They all get sold out. That said, if I was going to buy a Ford, I'd consider their certified used. They give a longer warranty than new cars and before they can be certified used they have to fix every little thing that's broken.

[ - ] Fascinus 3 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 00:55:54 ago (+3/-0)

Congrats, man.

Hope you enjoy it.

As for the twin turbo V6, I've yet to hear from a single person that likes them.

Another complaint I often hear is that the 10-speed transmission feels like it's always hunting gears.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 2 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 01:06:41 ago (+2/-0)

Thanks mang. The wife has an expedition with the b6 turbo and it does perform well.it would smoke my truck in a drag race, I just like a v8 better. Hers is a 2020, supposed to be the new era that doesn’t have the troubles the early ones did with some timing sensor thing and faulty turbos. Because I’m gonna keep it until I’m old, o wanted something less finicky.
I wish they still provided a 6 speed in the F-150, but they don’t. You can only get one in a F-250 anymore. I’m not a huge fan of the 10 speed, but everyone is doing them now, there’s probably no going back. It does shift up and down a lot, but that’s its job, in order to maintain fuel mileage numbers for the EPA faggots.
Did you know that you cannot get a 5.0 in a super crew? They will only do v6 engines, or diesels in the the full four door models.

[ - ] beece 2 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 10:47:56 ago (+2/-0)*

Sounds like it will pass anything but a gas station. :-)

I had a 2016 XLT 4 x 4 that I bought new. $12,000 off MSRP. Then they modified that to $11,750 when I paid via cash. I almost walked when I saw a $1600 fee to take the truck off the lot on P4 of the "contract" because it was Memorial Day and the banks were closed. "Opps, sorry, wrong form" asshole said. F#$%ing lying dealers, hate the fucks.

That F***ing truck made me mental. It would just die at off times, one time at the end of a long day way back in the woods. They could't find the fault. Finally I just left it at the dealer and they'd start it at random times and after 2 months they thenk they found and fixed it. Sold it for near what I paid, which was a mistake as the dealer I sold it to sold it for more and the dealer that bought it from him listed it for $49,999. !!!

I loved a lot of things on that truck, but the coolest was a Tuffy lock box for under the back seat. https://tuffyproducts.com/ I kept tools and cash in there. When hiking the wifes purse or firearms.

[ - ] oyveyo 2 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 09:23:19 ago (+2/-0)

Sorry to hear you bought a new vehicle, my condolences.

Get well soon.

[ - ] allAheadFull 2 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 01:07:35 ago (+2/-0)

Sounds fun. I'd like to get a truck but gas cost is a factor. I'd say you did well to avoid the V6, it would end up disappointing you and if you're towing something heavy the mileage probably won't be any better anyway.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 01:18:28 ago (+1/-0)

The mileage rating between the two is one point. I’m averaging 16 the way I drive, mostly local highways at 55-60 and some city. My old F-150 got 13-14, but it was tired and old. I hate the cost of gas here on CA, but where I drive there are lots of head on wrecks and you don’t wanna be in a small car. It’s a trade off of gas money for some kind of safety, but I’ve always had trucks. Don’t really have a use for a computer car. If I can’t haul something or tow something, you know.

[ - ] allAheadFull 6 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 01:50:52 ago (+6/-0)

The computers in these cars will be the death of a lot of people one day.

[ - ] DivineLight2 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 11:53:38 ago (+1/-0)

It sounds pretty good. I don't know much about trucks but all the car guys say Toyota trucks are superior.

I still see more vans here, double cab 10-12ft bed. All diesel manuals that can't tow much but can fit more on the larger bed and easier/cheaper to maintain and run and buy.

Always wanted one of the small trucks I see here, the raptor, it's basically just an SUV with a larger boot. Can't justify tho.

Hope you enjoy and it lasts you a long time.

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 10:09:31 ago (+1/-0)

I prefer older trucks. New vehicles are made like cheap shit and they just don't move me. Its like all the modern, ugly buildings. I know guys who run Fords and that's their choice but they just didn't cut it for working men who know. I do like the 78's and like Raptors but would never buy one for work. Back when I did geology years ago we had to use fresh cut roads into the mountains and I always had to have a dozer hooked to me pulling me whereas Chevy's went like a fuckin tank. Even the Dodges went better and held up better than the Fords. I guess if you do construction Fords are okay but if you need a legit work truck and have to 4-wheel a lot, they just don't get it.

[ - ] paul_neri 1 point 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 18:32:02 ago (+1/-0)

bling is what attracts the female bird.

[ - ] oyveyo 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 1, 2023 04:50:53 ago (+1/-0)*

I don't want a bird-brain. I prefer more sentient, intelligent lifeforms. A smart woman would seek out the smart man who doesn't put himself into servitude for inferior items. A cheaper, older, reliable vehicle is more practical than a new piece of plastic designed to bleed your wallet with financing interest, mandatory full-coverage premium insurance, and future maintenance costs that are increasingly locked-in to expensive dealer involvement. A smart woman would know that a stupid old truck with no tracking or surveillance and cheap parts is more desirable than a shuttlecraft controlled by The Empire.

[ - ] paul_neri 0 points 1.7 yearsOct 1, 2023 05:11:58 ago (+0/-0)

I am that stupid old truck.

[ - ] Freespeechplease 0 points 1.7 yearsSep 30, 2023 17:03:45 ago (+0/-0)

Good luck with your Jewish crap, I bought a truck for $2000 and it's been working fine for many years now. It starts and goes and passes inspection, and hauls shit that's all a truck needs to do. It will never self drive it self or play fucking movies on the speedometer. That's fucking retarted.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 0 points 1.7 yearsOct 3, 2023 00:49:32 ago (+0/-0)

Ford has quality control issues after 2020. Hope you got a 2020 or older. Porosity in the cylinder heads. Electronics issues.
