We have always gotten the "free" dog, runts rule. Our Kengal is only 70lbs but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in speed. Olive Oyl brings us her kills which at first was disconcerting, but the wild animals have learnt to not cut through our yard. I will gladly take the runt any day.

I feel the same about my dumbass silver lab, Gracie. Shes adorable though and is a hell of fetcher and swimmer.

Yes and no, in her chewing phase she cost me hundreds of dollars. I lost cables, shoes, slippers, etc. but now when a salesman comes to the door, I answer it holding her collar. She barks up a storm and potentially saves me thousands! No goddamnit, I don’t want solar!

Oh, man! Our old girl is great that way also. She has such a deep, intimidating snarl; from the other side of the door, she sounds genuinely frightening. Pretty sure she'd run away if we really needed her, but I'm not positive about that.

I feel the same way about my Daisy. She will bark up a storm if there is danger but will she defend me? I don’t know. Her snarling and growling may be just enough to save my fat ass.

I’ve had to go in my neighbors yard to repair our fence. Daisy is a beast. She’s loosened boards trying to go after the neighbors. However she is the classic “courage the cowardly dog” she charges in, full of bluster and barking up a storm, until there is an actual threat, then she hides behind me. Yet, I love this dog!
