Tbf it's pretty fucking good occasionally, but usually nowadays I just use my own ingredients, probably only bought hamburger helper twice in my life(my mom rarely bought it as well growing up) but I had friends who were welfare sponges growing up and their mom's would make it often and my high ass (pot in my teens) enjoyed it lol

Crockpot with a roast. Put it in before you leave for work covered with water on low, ready when you get home. You can use 2 packets of onion soup mix for the seasoning which is super easy and tasty, or you can use better quality seasonings, there are tons of recipes out there. Add taters and carrots for grandma quality.
