What’s your average monthly grocery bill?

submitted by dusttree to whatever 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 18:36:06 ago (+19/-0)     (whatever)

Ours is roughly $800-$1100 monthly now vs $400-$600 three years ago . It feeds my family but it’s certainly not an extravagant list. Shits getting outrageous.

Between $400 and $500 a month for just myself. Hard to say what it used to be since i've changed my eating habits and do a lot more home cooked food. So becoming more frugal with my spending and the rising prices have kept my monthly grocery bill roughly the same.

$1200nzd for 2 adults three kids.

And we get all our eggs, red meat, some veggies from our small farm.

About 30% increase in the last year alone.

Word of warning, dairy fat is said to be the leading contributor to phtalate ingestion. EU banned it from the cow-milking receptacles but good ol' USA leaves the fat-soluble phtalates in the milk machine tubing. If they can't outright take our guns they'll take our testosterone first.

The majority of my diet is fat due to keto diet so I'm limiting my dairy fat consumption. By drinking half/half you're mainlining it...

If we lived in a real country run by real people we wouldn't have these problems, but the USA is talmudic enemy #1.

You could try to source milk that doesn't have phtalates but I don't know anything about that. Personally I just try to keep my dairy fat consumption lower than I otherwise would but I don't completely abstain. Some people on the keto diet get huge quantities of dairy fat on the daily, so people like that are most at risk.

[ - ] big_fat_dangus 5 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 18:55:06 ago (+5/-0)

About $600 for one adult and one kid. Well over twice what it was pre covid. Fucking insane, I don't know how median earners and poorfags are surviving, honestly.

We aren't buying differently, either. Lots of chicken and cheaper beef cuts, some pork, and a nice steak once per week. Minimal processed goyfeed. Shit costs a fortune now.

Pork shoulder is $2 per pound. Smoked for 12-16 hours and you have ready to go meat for a week.

[ - ] Osmanthus 3 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 21:20:34 ago (+3/-0)

$3.99 per pound at safeway near me :(

I do mine on a traeger smoker for 6 hours and finish it in the oven. We love some pulled pork with slaw and sauce

...just be thankful of your "White" privilege...Whitey should be proud that his tax dollars are being used to fund poor politicians, worthless migrants and 3generations of useless eaters....remember....it's better to "give than to receive", in other words, it's better to comply with mandatory charity than it is to retain what little income is left

Don’t forget endless wars and nigger stamps! It’s be a pure shame if them niggers didn’t have enough to eat and couldn’t breed the next generation of mindless, violent, fatherless subhuman criminals or Kikes not having the resources to maintain brotherwars

[ - ] Sector2 3 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 22:19:28 ago (+3/-0)

Around $200. Would be less if so much didn't go to waste.

"Yeah, I'll totally make that this week." Couple weeks later, dead produce to be thrown out.

[ - ] No_way_oy_vey 1 point 1.5 yearsJan 2, 2024 18:26:33 ago (+1/-0)

I've been buying the Anchor Hocking 6-cup glass meal prep containers and I just make huge batches of everything and freeze meals ready to go for next time.

These are the best I've found, both the glass and plastic lid are dishwasher safe, and the lid's gasket is fused to the lid to prevent having to remove and clean a gasket like some glass containers do.

Having healthy goyslop-free meals at the ready makes it easier to stay on track. I can't afford to ravage my body with goyslop anymore, we have a fight to win...

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 1.5 yearsJan 2, 2024 19:04:13 ago (+1/-0)

the Anchor Hocking 6-cup glass meal prep containers

You ever look at something, then next day start seeing that thing mentioned in internet ads and comment replies?

That does seem like a good idea.

[ - ] No_way_oy_vey 1 point 1.5 yearsJan 2, 2024 19:24:23 ago (+1/-0)

Yeah, Ikea makes some glass meal prep containers that were well reviewed too but I haven't tried those yet.

I was using the cheapo plastic ones but I didn't like the idea of heating the food in the plastic, and the 6-cup glass ones have more volume and I'm trying to gain muscle.

3 of us, one son moved out. I’m a carnivore so I eat a lot of meat. Not fat just healthy.

[ - ] Thatguy 4 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 18:56:04 ago (+4/-0)

Our food bill went way down, after I started eating only meat. I’m just not hungry that often.

[ - ] Zyklonbeekeeper 7 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 19:11:45 ago (+7/-0)

I cooked a 2.5lb prime rib roast yesterday, the wife and I pigged right out on, had fresh bread with it....I can't eat fuck all today other than fruit and the grilled cheese I had at lunch....I'm a firm believer that a heavy meat diet will cut down on the number of meals one needs every day...I was so stuffed yesterday and into last night that I could not fall asleep, yet today, with minimal intake, I feel great....more red meat, fish too, the less meals required...and lots of good well water.

The prices have increased because of fucking joe xiden and his piece of shit buttplug of transportation. He has shorted supply, increasing demand resulting in higher prices, d u h

Averages somewhere around $2,750.

Would be maybe $1,500 if I bought the cheap stuff.

I go for things with less ingredients (especially the chemical cocktails) and as much local farm produce as is reasonable.

[ - ] dusttree [op] 3 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 19:34:18 ago (+3/-0)

We’re big meat eaters in this house and we’re resorting to odd cuts like cheek meat. Made a killer beef cheek stew the other day but even that was $4 a pound. We rendered the fat down into tallow

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 19:45:06 ago (+0/-0)

The price of tounge has gotten ridiculous. $25- $30 ?? since when? Im going to stock up next time when I find them at 12.

I found a nice cow knuckle a few days ago for 41. Slicer and grinder were the best gifts I (😉) bought myself.

I could make the bill cheaper easily. By almost 200 but it's not worth it in the long run. Or maybe. Idk, I think anus expander might be onto something.

[ - ] lord_nougat 0 points 1.5 yearsJan 1, 2024 19:17:01 ago (+0/-0)
