Any war between the major powers of the world would result in the nuking of carrier groups by submarines. They are far less determinant of power than we are being lead to believe.

IDK, the brits barely got their last two out of drydock before they had significant mechanical failures rendering them useless. The USSR was learning when they built that clunker however the brits were well experienced and still fucked up badly.
