About a month ago I got a call for something that looked pretty promising and the money was right so I sent in the resume and the recruiter came back with fill out the profile/application/etc. I called him back and said zero of that was happening and what the resume was for. He said he would get with the hiring manager and never heard a call back.

true for shit corporate jobs, get in the trades or work for a family owned business or a mom and pop. NONE of that exists there and you get bonuses when you perform well and leniency if you have an off year.

My old employer was family owned, they sold out to some big corporation, I was looking for a new job within a year. My old companies smaller competition let me know through a mediator that they were interested, I threw out a stupid high number and they took it. I have made them way more than I cost them and have been told by the owner "whatever you need" for anything in the future that year half jokingly sent in a request for a paid week off for all my staff for the week between Christmas - new years (which we are always dead for anyway) on top of their regular paid vacation. My boss emailed me back and said "my boss said I can't really tell you no" Feels fucking good.

small business is like a loyal and faithful wife from the 70's you bring in money and respect them and they will treat you accordingly. Corporate jobs are like modern women, they expect you to do everything and all your receive in return is zero appreciation but they wont abandon you at that moment.

These were more difficult to fill out in the 2000s as often there would be a personality test to follow. Sometimes you get lucky and find an application portal that is intuitive.

if you know how to read a job advertisement and look up the company posting the ad it generally speaks for itself why the job is available.... and you avoid this bullshit entirely.
