So we stop at a sandbar that's been a fav camping spot of mine since the 70's. Its a big beach right on the river. Its right beside of a river that dumps into the bigger river. Its a nice spot for swimming and we even put a jet ski in there once in a while. We have a tree swing that goes out over the water. So anyhoo, we're standing at the edge of the water and a buncha river rats come through on rafts and kayaks. Most won't stop because people here aren't very nice to them anymore. Its locals only mentality. People are sick of them because they are mostly leftist trustfund idiots and they litter and are disrespectful and there's been many of them, or so I've heard, get the shit kicked out of them, especially over the last ten years or so.

So this bearded, tattoo'd, pierced long-haired hippie from Colorado paddles right up to us and says "duuuude, I just want to tell you that its peace, love and happiness from us and I wanted to let you know that we respect you and your home here". My friend kind of squeezes his fist tight but I immediately speak and say, hey, its all good. Today you got lucky and get to leave here as so many get directly taken and chained on the basement floor(just joking). He paddled away rather quickly and my friend & I giggled and went on about our way. See, Ima a nice guy.

I drove through a mile long train tunnel. Its hot af outside (93-95) but once you get to the end of that tunnel you are freezing your ass off. It feels really good on a hot summer day. I got to a diff spot way down the river and there's a big, high rock there. We climbed up on it and looked at the pink sky sunset. Watched birds fishing and looking for crawdads. We went on down the road and stopped at another sandbar and my friend pulled down in the sand and sunk up to his eyeballs and bellied out so had to pull him out. Came home and worked on my bird feeder and now relaxing.
