The moron in the video is habituating the gator to associate humans with food.

Endangering himself and his neighbors.

It's also illegal.

It's also illegal.

In sarasota, I knew a guy that walked his pooch close to a watering hole (they're everywhere there) and a gater got his dog. He called the authorites and he ended up getting ticketed and arrested for animal endagerment because the signs for gators were all over the place.

That sounds about like Florida cops. They probably ignored a urban youth dirt bike gang on the way to ticket that guy.

Indeed, the 'urban youths' are prevalent in those parts.

Adding insult to injury

I was in Central Park once where a six year old got on a "bolder" that was basically flush with the ground and ever so slightly uneven but almost flat. His mother yelled at him frightfully demanding he get down before he gets hurt.

I'm just saying New York and Florida are two different places.

My kids would be fist fighting on it to see who is the man, and the thing is, all my kids have ME in them so the ones that got pushed off come back with a stick.

One of my fondest memories as a child was visiting a farm in the middle of winter. There were 9 hay bales arranged 3 by 3. There were five of us and we had fun just pushing each other off the bales. There was plenty of snow so plenty of cushioning.

We returned in the summer and tried to play on the bales but there was straw and dust everywhere. Definitely a winter game.

It's either a ranch or hes feeding it. Left alone they don't act like that.

Meh, depends on the situation.

This gator looks to be trained. He responded to the guy calling him, walked up to him slowly, and took the food like he had done it before. Maybe a gator raised in captivity or in a bathtub?

I've seen people form some pretty deep bonds with gators that they've raised since they were small, and the gators seem to be pretty docile. They even respond to commands and act like monster dogs sometimes.

If this was a completely wild gator, then yeah, future disappearing act in the process here; I think this one will be fine.

A purely carnivorous reptile with a brain that is probably the size of a large acorn is not meant for domestication.

[ - ] Wahaha 0 points 6 monthsNov 29, 2024 11:36:45 ago (+0/-0)

Nothing is meant for domestication, but humanity didn't care and did it anyway.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 0 points 6 monthsNov 29, 2024 11:54:59 ago (+0/-0)

Animals domesticate themselves.

[ - ] Wahaha 1 point 6 monthsNov 29, 2024 14:01:09 ago (+1/-0)

That's not how that works.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 0 points 6 monthsNov 29, 2024 17:42:22 ago (+0/-0)

Wild is kind of a lie. People have to turn their backs on animals like they aren't loved or they domesticate.
