That’s kind of hard to predict. Just like technology, more than five years out in the geopolitical realm is pretty iffy.

I see a global CBDC system put in place in roughly 2029 through 2031. With that single currency used for international transactions worldwide, individual national currencies will either hyperinflate into uselessness or simply transition to the CBDC GlobeCoin simply because it facilitates easier transactions and everyone would have access to it.

Economic union causes political union. That’s the whole point of the EU’s precursors, for example. Federalized Europe was planned in the 1920s and has been happening ever since. With a single economic zone for the whole world, borders will simply cease to be enforced. Expect a billion immigrants to the West (all locations) in the subsequent 15 years after the global CBDC is turned on. That’s it for society. By 2045, there will only be hyperrich enclaves where electricity and basic services exist (think modern South Africa, Brazil, and China) and endless Soweto-like stretches of shantytowns springing up outside Costco, Amazon, and Walmart warehouses.
