GOATS - I Need Some Serious Medical Advice - Should I Go to the Hospital Due to This Pus FIlled Burn Boil

I'm out on medical leave because I dropped a piping hot pizza from my oven (cheese side down) onto the top of my right foot, because the kitchen floor of my shitty apartment is slippery and I slid around while taking my pizza out of the oven, it fell on my right foot and I immediately kicked off and got pizza sauce & toppings all over my living room carpet.
I have damned near 2nd degree burns on my foot and based on my picture, need to know if I should go to the hospital.

leave it be while you heal underneath. it will reabsorb or rupture when its done the job of protecting your flesh while it heals. be warned. i am not a doctor. this is what i do with such things. but i've had them that big before.

Ok. I had a family member bring me some sports guaze & burn cream with aloe. It hurts so bad I can't even wear a sock. I'm scared to pop it.

Don't pop it, but when it happens naturally remove all the free skin and keep tee tree oil and/or Manuka honey on it. It will be healed in less than a week.

You don't think I've already searched online? I've already had 2 people I know tell me I should go to the hospital - one IRL & the other via text.
My insurance is extremely shitty - I don't wanna have to pay $2k for a doctor to prescribe me some pills and send me home with a list of how to treat my condition.

That's the worst foot-pic ever, but it's just a single blister on the top of your foot. I would pop (but not peel) it over the tub, then put aloe or ointment and a bandaid on it.

What reason are people giving for going to the hospital for a small burn blister?

Were you able to eat any of the pizza?

It's probably just plasma.

Pierce it.
Peel off dead skin.
Apply alchohol to kill bacteria.
Apply neosporin.
Apply sterile gauze over wound.
Apply mole skin over gauze.
Clean/Change multiple times per day.

Go to the hospital if wound spreads or if it becomes pus.

Hydrogen peroxide is a really bad idea in this case. It's for existing infections and will destroy otherwise healthy tissue.

1. thats a first degree burn.
2. its not full of pus. thats normal fluid that accumulates on a burn.
3. youre not supposed to pop it.
4. butch up. put some triple antibiotic on it. bandage it. it will pop on its own. and get your pansy ass to work.

I have had several burns of this nature.

This is what I would do: Lance it, put some bacitracin or your preferred ointment and wrap it. Just poke it with a sterile needle. Don't pull the skin off or you will regret it... or do if you're into that shit. Lol
Give it a couple days for it to heal under the blister.

Read: I am not a doctor. I don't go to the hospital unless I feel like I'm dying for several days or if I need stitches, if necessary. Although painful, I would not go for something this minor.

I wouldn’t waste my time at the hospital.
Don’t pop it until it does on its own, it is healing under.
When it does pop put some antibacterial cream around it and cover it.
Don’t be concerned unless it develops redness around the area due to infection.

It happened at home last night.I slipped on my kitchen floor as I just got the pizza out of the oven and tried to get it on the cardboard base that came with it. Pizza fell topping-side down on my foot an I immediately kicked it off onto my living room carpet.

that cardboard base is not for serving purposes. Its so that it holds shape in the plastic. A large enough cutting board should be fine if you dont have a pan to serve it on.

You pop that thing, and I'd wager you'd get an infection. It looks "good" in that photo- like "best case scenario for a bad burn". Keep it clean with soap and cool water. Leave the blister be- it's there to protect the burnt flesh with the little bubble of fluid while it heals. As new layers of skin replace the burnt ones, the blister will pop on its own.

After that happens, keep it clean and dry. Don't go crazy applying ointments and shit like that.

It looks normal for a moderately serious burn. The blister fills with fluid to keep the wound moist. Its probably not pus. I don’t think you need to go to the hospital. Keep it clean. When/if the blister pops you can put a bandaid on it, maybe a little neosporin. Sorry for your trouble. Looks painful.

Dude it's a tiny blister from a small burn. Why the fuck would you go to the hospital?? They say "don't pop it" because of a bunch of lame reasons. I say pop it, tear all that dead skin off, douse it with antiseptic or rubbing alcohol, and pop a bandaid on it with some polysporin or other equivalent. You'll be fine. Don't let it get infected.

I would say diabetes is your larger concern.

Get some toothache gel for the pain of you need it and take an aspirin.

Let it be for a day and then take a flame sterilized pin and put a tiny hole in the bubble to drain it.

Then the top skin will dry out and fall off and underneath should be good.
