I have a freezer full of ground beef after buying a quarter of a cow.
Burgers are too much trouble. And burger bread is ass unless you get the fancy burger bread and then you're paying as much for bread as you pay for meat.
I do this instead:
I put bacon, then I put asafoetida and tumeric into the fat, then chopped onion, then ground beef, cauliflower or green beans if I have them, pinto beans, rice, cheese if I have it, pretty much dump the whole fridge in there. Season with paprika, salt, pepper, and whatever other spices I feel like at the moment. I end up with a full deep pan of bachelor chow.
I take this warrior mix and either glop it on a plate or on a taco shell or a tostada shell and cover the rest and let it sit right on the stove. I don't run heat because central heating is for cowards so it doesn't go bad. I just keep reheating it. That feeds me for a day or two, depending on proportions. And it costs like $10? It looks very unappealing but it tastes great and is a balanced meal.
"Asafoetida has a pungent smell, as reflected in its name, lending it the common name of "stinking gum". The odor dissipates upon cooking; in cooked dishes, it delivers a smooth flavor reminiscent of leeks or other onion relatives. Asafoetida is also known colloquially as "devil's dung" in English."
TIL about asfoetida. Also your gut is probably acclimated to whatever else you have growing in the food leaving it out like that but I wouldn't recommend this style of cooking for the rest of us.
As far as I know it would probably be okay to keep out all the time if it was kept constantly warm. Pretty sure a lot of places just have a pot continuously simmering to which they add new ingredients each day. I do think people become acclimated so you might not have any issues where someone else might. That's a neat way to learn about new spices. Thanks for sharing.
So the way I always heard it was that reheating at a high enough temp will kill the bacteria but it doesn't do anything to the waste products previously produced by the bacteria that are supposed to be harmful for us. I don't tend to worry about that too much though and I also routinely leave things out longer than I "should". I think if a person is in good general health they can deal with most things like this. Re-heating tends to lower the nutritional value of most foods but again I don't worry overmuch about that either.
Southern style chicken burger, brioche bun, carrots, spinach and sweet chili sauce. I used to use iceberg lettuce but that stuff starts to wither within a few days in the fridge.
oh man its enough of a risk having minimum wage monkey people cook your goypoison food, you are really asking for trouble having a slophub subhuman deliver it.
My favorite buy a pound of hamburger meat plop it on a pan cut it into four squares you have four hamburgers cook them up put them in a plastic bag with a little salt in the fridge and you have an instant pure meat meal with no additives that you can grab as just a cold snack or reheat in the microwave for instant real food with meat and proper animal fat for your nutrition. You can cook three or four pounds of hamburger meat at a time and fill multiple little baggies with it so you're cooking time total for each one is near zero. And at $5 a pound or something your quarter pound true quarter pound hamburger is going to be about a dollar each

$10 for the meat, makes 6 burgers
$6 for buns, makes 6 burgers
$5 for spinach, carrots, onions and sauce which lasts more than 6 burgers
However thats already over $20 for a burger and now your forced to have 5 more within the week or throw out the ingredients.
Ill make and eat those 6 burgers over mcdonalds any day tho
