He's not wrong.

But that doesn't have an ice wall or a firmament!

My dude needs a crystalline helmet!

I want you to think about something. The surface of the sphere in the video game is meant to be something you can traverse well within the average window for holding a 10-yr old's attention.

If its size was a realistic model of a person's relative to Earth, walking the circumference of it would take well over 300 days (assuming non-stop play), depending on how fast your character moves. If it moves like a person, e.g., 3 mph, then almost a year. If there's nothing to explore on that map beside collecting a bunch of balls, that would be a pretty shitty game. I can't imagine giving over 8,000 hours to that.

So, no, for fuck's sake, the "planets" in a Sega game are not a good model of the Earth.

They're a better model than what you have now... which is nothing.

Because no matter how hard you try, you cannot produce an IRL model with water sticking to a 'spinning ball'.

Think about that one, champ.

This sort of reasoning reminds me of some religious people.

"Figure out how a universe exists, or you'd better worship God."

My superficial answer is going to be that gravity explains the behavior of water on Earth. The planet had gravity before the formation of water. Water formed in a gravitational field. Like everything else that formed billions of years after Earth's formation, the fundamental physics were primitive to the "local" physics. The precursors to molecular water and even to complex life were spinning with the Earth before molecular water or life existed. To do what they do on Earth means their behaviors supervene on being accelerated toward the ground constantly. Everything that does anything on the surface of Earth has to evolve with that condition, and it actually explains a lot about the basic features of life, such as why we have musculoskeletal systems that appear designed to resist the acceleration due to gravity.

In other words, most of the interesting things you see on Earth's surface are interesting because they have "figured" out how to grow/climb/move in a direction perpendicular to and away from the ground. That's the rule, not the exception. A round-Earth theory is going to explain a whole hell of a lot more than your theory does. Generally, it's not good practice to identify one thing a good theory can't explain in a way that satisfies you and toss it for a theory that is far less powerful.

Just because I don't have a complete theory of fundamental physics, doesn't mean everything that lacks a satisfying explanation immediately points to the most retarded theory we have.

Of which you cannot demonstrate, I.E. Lack of a model.

It doesn't seem like you did much thinking about it...

Just because I don't have a complete theory of fundamental physics, doesn't mean everything that lacks a satisfying explanation immediately points to the most retarded theory we have.

Funny, that's what I've been saying!

Yet, the retards just go with the retard theory of water sticking to a spinning ball flying through space in all directions (but you can't feel it though, just trust us! Ignore your inner ear and eyes, goy! Just trust US! Oy vey! The earth casts a shadow on the moon even though we can see both the moon and the sun that are in the sky at the same time, just trust us, GOY!)

I don't want to argue with you retards, but can you clarify when we see a lunar eclipse and the Sun at the same time in the sky?

If you lived on a very tiny planet, the size of a zeppelin or a hot air balloon, then it would look like that. Assuming the small planet has enough mass to even carry anything on its surface; much less an atmosphere.

Wait till they see NASA's animation

And every science textbook uses cartoon drawings as proof.

They are the best way to communicate.

You spend enough time on those bonus levels and it'll make you dizzy.

[ - ] Kozel 0 points 4 daysApr 26, 2025 06:37:33 ago (+0/-0)

if you consider that the game is code running on a different plane if reality and draw contrast with our existence and contemplate the obvious

[ - ] big_fat_dangus [op] 0 points 4 daysApr 26, 2025 06:51:17 ago (+0/-0)

You have to bragdasticate the mugenfeasance first.

[ - ] Kozel 1 point 4 daysApr 26, 2025 07:56:47 ago (+1/-0)

no u 😏

That is what a physical horizon on a sphere would look like.

Nobody ever said anything about the size of the sphere.
The Sonic could have just been a very large kaiju sized hedgehog.

[ - ] observation1 0 points 4 daysApr 26, 2025 15:44:22 ago (+0/-0)

Do you suffer from Aphantasia?

If this illustration portrays the size of the planet then Sonic, proportionally, is in outer space.

[ - ] Pasty 1 point 4 daysApr 26, 2025 15:50:48 ago (+1/-0)

It's alright jews aren't known for their spacial awareness, just look at their architecture.

[ - ] Master_Foo -1 points 3 daysApr 26, 2025 22:42:59 ago (+0/-1)

Space is fake and gay.
Do you want Sonic to breathe faggoty?

[ - ] observation1 1 point 3 daysApr 26, 2025 23:09:06 ago (+1/-0)

Answer my question. Are you unable to form mental pictures?

Individuals with aphantasia, and there are many, tend to have some difficulty with the position, size and relationships of objects.

[ - ] Master_Foo -1 points 3 daysApr 26, 2025 23:59:38 ago (+0/-1)

Well, it's a super sonic hedgehog, so all models are out the window on this one.

[ - ] observation1 1 point 3 daysApr 27, 2025 00:03:31 ago (+1/-0)

Interesting. So you don't recognize the curvature on the goodyear blimp and size of the men handling the zepplin, are similar in size to sonic and his realm?

[ - ] Master_Foo -1 points 3 daysApr 27, 2025 00:14:03 ago (+0/-1)

There's nothing in either picture that can be used to determine scale.
You are assuming the people in the picture are normal people, but you don't actually know that for a fact.
They could be from a world of giants and the zeppelin could be the size of Earth.
More information is required before making a conclusion.

[ - ] observation1 1 point 3 daysApr 27, 2025 00:20:34 ago (+1/-0)

You respond relative to my comment. You're assuming the letters typed here aren't actually alien code meaning something else, entirely. Why stop there?
