There are a good number of various/related studies out there -

Pub Med
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=covid+and+smoking

BMC
https://www.biomedcentral.com/search?query=Smoking+and+Covid&searchType=publisherSearch

Lancet
https://www.thelancet.com/action/doSearch?type=quicksearch&text1=nicotine++covid&field1=AllField&journalCode=lanres&SeriesKey=lanres

Here is a link to a study that is specifically about nicotine and viral myocarditis
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4623743/

I know there is a French Study as well, but it came out of a small hospital around early COVID times, and I've never been able to find a link to anything official. If you Google it, there are a lot of small articles still referencing the French study, but they never seem to provide a source. However, it's more about smokers having lower rates of infection (COVID) than non-smokers.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I too live in an area riddled with blacks and browns. We purchased in a newly built, expensive area thinking we'd escape them but nope, it's been nothing but misery so I know how you feel to that end.

The job situation is just infuriating to hear. You have experience in finance, IT, and HR, and that's a triple threat - I agree with Beece and PotatoWhisperer, you could easily start your own business and school the competition; you know what works and what doesn't.

Good luck to you.

I wish I were a millionaire (sadly, nowhere near), but I work in an industry that caters to them. I don't think many would go for it as they'd be too suspicious, maybe new money though (wealthy influencers/non-generational wealth folks) can't get enough of themselves; the other group of generational/old money families are mostly humble and hard to spot in a crowd (young me always thought they walked around with monocles like the Monopoly Man or with top hats and canes like Mr. Peanut lol).

With that said, it is my opinion that it would take tact to bring in the majority of the wealthy. You might try a slightly different premise like the facilitation of vacation rentals advertised as curated/white-glove service with a social networking gimmick on the side (encourage exchanges of vacation photos and blog space for each rental, as opposed to a traditional social network - it could easily turn into one if it catches on). Add to that, offer up a small percentage of the finders fee to charity, and you're all set (they love that shit).

I think value brands are fairly hit or miss, but I will admit that many value brand cleaners perform better than some name brands I've used.

As for food items, not so much. I tend to notice that many value brands have strange ingredients or copious amounts of sugar. Better brands are worth the extra few dollars if it has better ingredients imo. Then again, I tend to exclusively eat meat, cheese, and fresh veggies. The most dubious thing I buy is olive oil - you never know what concoction you're going to get.

I would encourage her to look at labels, and if there is a word or ingredient she can't pronounce or has no idea what it is and how it affects the body, then she likely shouldn't buy it. I grew up poor as well but eventually learned the way. Once she realizes how powerful a good diet is she won't look back.

Gross, it reminds me of Anjelica Huston's character in The Witches.

I wanted to be a librarian when I was very little. I did volunteer at my local library as soon as I was old enough and always participated in their youth contests.

However, life had other plans for me and I never even got close to trying. I'm kind of glad in a way though, as it would not have lasted - I would refuse to let mentally ill fags read to kids, so I would have been fired for non-compliance and displaced anyway.

I've had the displeasure of living next to both blacks and mexicans. The blacks were more tolerable than the mexicans. We relocated to a higher income area to not have to live next to either, but thanks to all the government handouts there is no getting away from them. Our mexican neighbors embody every negative stereotype you've ever heard about them.

You can get a copy of Photoshop 2. Adobe shut down the activation for it ages ago, so it's free. It's not the latest and greatest, but you can still use layer masking and the lasso tool to achieve what you want.

Alternatively, you could use Gimp or Photopea, but of the options, I still prefer Photoshop 2 personally.

I've used the link (pasted below) to get Photoshop 2 in the past. When I searched for it, I was surprised to see it was still there.

I have no idea why some women are drawn to ridiculously overpriced purses/bags. Even if I were a millionaire, I don't think I could ever allow myself to want to spend more than $25 or $30 on the highest of sides. I use them until they fall apart because I see them as a tool, not an accessory, and more of an encumbrance these days if I am being honest. I keep my important stuff in a wallet (small efficient and concealable, which I do not keep in my purse), and the bag is mostly used to carry an extra water bottle or two, perfume, a hair brush, mace, and a few small first aide items; I do not need an expensive bag for that.

Furthermore, I am not standing around with the purse long enough to care about how it looks, and maybe I don't want it to look fancy because I do not want to draw attention to myself. If a thief is looking to do a purse grab, please choose the idiot who spent $500+ on a flashy purse over my bargain bin bag. Looks here aren't deceiving - I keep nothing of real value in it.

For years, I thought that the actual lyrics were "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy." One of my elders corrected me during a casual conversation about misheard lyrics some years ago, but also happened to mention that sometimes Jimi was known to actually sing "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy" just to mess with people in light of it being so commonly misheard at the time.

I do not know if Jimi really did purposefully sing the latter just to mess with people, as Jimi was technically before my time, but the person I was speaking with grew up when it was relevant, so maybe.

Anecdotally, in that same conversation, I also learned that Johnny Rivers was singing about a secret agent man, not a secret asian man lol.

I'm unsure of my stance on this matter. On one hand, I am pissed off that we are covering the cost of their condoms. On the other hand, it can be seen as telling them not to breed, which I strongly support.

Clean and dry the area well. Next, apply granulated sugar and keep it in place with gauze or a band aide; change and repeat as needed. It sounds crazy, but it works well enough and as an added bonus you won't smell like pee.

I slowed down the playback and watched it a few times and it looks deliberate to me. I absolutely agree that this appears that it was no accident and looks like an intentional murder. His posturing and the way he pushed the other player out of the way to do it reeks of intent and premeditation.

I think the list is fine. The only thing I would suggest is not going to places where the only option is ice cream or some sort of dessert because most women are watching their weight, or at least should be.

I was always told growing up that if a man brings you to a family function or church that it is very flattering, and a great opportunity to meet the people who helped shaped his character, and I found that to be mostly true in my single years. Also, I lived for long drives, sometimes the best dates were just driving around and going on random adventures with no real purpose other than fun. The point is, if you're anything other than a gold digger you do not need to do anything too expensive to have fun and get to know someone.

Then again, if the above pictured creature is representative of the group who created the list, maybe a more ideal first date would be a one-way ticket to africa with a complementary bucket of chicken, and a bottle of grape drank.

My suggestion would be to go ahead and develop your app. Take the time to use their app in order to pinpoint its shortcomings and use that experience to improve upon your own.

Choice and healthy competition keeps innovation going (you don't need to be the first and only option, you just have to be the better one).

Ever wonder that if assuming the government has been in contact with ETs this entire time and managed to mostly keep things under wraps, that maybe the government wants to control the narrative once the veil drops on their existence, because these beings no longer wish to play nice following a long period of observation and would rather just take the reigns?

Those in power will always cling to it. Maybe they have made an ultimatum with these beings that include disclosure of their existence, and the government might be slowly building up to it, maybe it's all made up bullshit to keep people distracted, or a bit of both.

Either way, it's topics like these in the news that keeps me looking for what else is really going on.

Exactly this. My father had prostate cancer and it metastasized everywhere before he decided it was a good idea to get treatment. It kills me that his doctor caught it early when treatment would have been effective, but he thought that it was not aggressive and treatment would have likely killed him before the cancer, but obviously he was oh so very wrong.

I like using grow lights for my indoor garden. While most plants will grow when you stick them in front of the window, it does make them curve to the light. The stem curvature makes harvesting kind of annoying, and not to mention that the sunlight they get from the window won't always be consistent. Historically, I have had the best results with using grow lights.

With the built in timers that most LED grow lights have these days, it ensures that your plants get an exact/consistent amount of light. Sure, some of them do put off a small amount of heat, but nothing really to worry about. If you're using fans to add circulation to help prevent mold, even a tiny fan would likely mitigate it (assuming it's just a small/personal set up).

I'm more of a fan of fresh jalapenos as an omelet ingredient, but if I'm looking for heat with my eggs, and if I had to choose between Cholula and Tabasco, I'd opt for the Cholula over Tabasco (it has more flavor, and is a bit less watery). Although, I'm much happier without having either.
