Used eddit when digg turned all fagotty and banned people for posting HD-DVD key, then fled eddit when they banned r/niggers. Ended up at voat until it shut down and started using poal. Now I find out about this place, has "AskVoat" for some reason. What's the story behind this fed honeypot? What's the shitposting like on here?

When Bluray came out it had a direct competitor called HD-DVD. Someone leaked a key that would unlock any HD-DVD and allow people to copy it freely. People posted the key on a website called Digg that was really popular at the time. Digg started banning people who would post the key. So people started leaving Digg in droves for their censorship and ironically ended up at reddit because they didn't censor. Yes, the reason reddit became popular was because they didn't censor anything.

When he first launched, he considered making voat.xyz being the "NSFW" site, and "talk.lol" the SFW site, but since, I think have merged.
