Not sure how to word this but this is a glitch I get sometimes.
On phone. Brave Browser. Post a reply/comment to the thread. Comment goes through. Seems normal. Hit refresh. Comment re-submits. If I keep refreshing it'll keep resubmitting the comment. Doesn't seem to matter who I'm replying to, op or another comment.
Add better contrast and make the text black as possible. Obsidian kind of black would be great. Same for post & comment text which looks gray on the page. https://litter.catbox.moe/fljrxo.png
Possibly box every alternate post on front page/ v/all as well. /u/oursenilepresident submitted a thesis on it.
@system - votes on comments (as you are doing) and then a live notification (on the browser tab) to show new comments (like Voat had) would be great. If you nail those two things, I don't think I'd have anything more to complain about.
EDIT: For some reason, it wasn't letting me post - and then it let some of the failed posts through. It's above my pay grade.
It stands to reason that a few votes will be all it takes to make it rise to the top on Friday. So, we can survive with it this way, even though it's not what I'd prefer. I am also led to believe that that will be changing sometime in the future anyhow. So, eventually we'll be able to immediately sticky the thread again.
It's something hard-coded in my process, so I'll have to get used to not clicking the sticky bit right after I post the first comment.
LOL I hit the sticky immediately after submitting the comment.
I use both clipboard buffers. You have your standard cut and paste, then you have a 2nd buffer. If you highlight something (no cut and paste, just highlight it) and then press the scroll button in a text-input area it will paste what's in that buffer - what you'd highlighted.
I use both buffers because the submission might fail and I'll have to hurry.
I post the comment immediately to ensure it's the top-most comment - before someone types 'first!' or something.
Then I sticky it.
That'd be my process. Gonna have to remember to change it...

I went to the UP today and more than half the way there I got no signal at all on my cell phone. I could not even make a call. But on the way back, on the same route, I had signal the whole way
Did you ever go to Live Leak back in the day? We need a set-up like that. We should be able to have an avatar with a 5 sec sound clip[ when people hover over it.
Before that i think it was Ogrish(gore vids). Then jew Hayden Jewitt bought it. It had a good UI. I always gave them that. You had a homepage where people could post on your wall. I and another dude got the word "dindu nuffins" banned there. It was quite an achievement that still brings me great pride and joy. and I always fucked with that old boomer retard Sloop. I could push his buttons and make him mad as fuck and it was funny to me. lol
I can't remember what they are called, but I like the old voat feature where the owner could put a tag on a thread, like "Joke of the day" or whatever.
I have one idea, not sure it can be done... but, when new registrations are opened, it would be great that before a new username can register, that it should solve some basic puzzle, like IQ test, and over 100 would be modestly nice I'd say.
One of my biggest annoyances here is the >quote formatting and bugs that come with it. Specifically:
- WAY too much spacing above and below the quote - No merging of adjacent quote paragraphs into one quote block - Weird interactions with other formatting / failing to apply formatting - Sometimes makes entire paragraphs of content disappear
It's so bad I almost never use >quotes anymore. I'll try to reproduce some of the above:
Test1Test2
Paragraph1 test Paragraph2 link? "Paragraph3 test"
All of the formatting actually works in the above, so maybe you improved it already. Still, the first two points about spacing and not merging paragraphs into one block remain.
Well, I suppose one can get used to anything. But that doesn't mean it is good. Look at your comment. Respectfully, it looks atrocious.
The issue appears to be that you're inserting additional <br>s. This is unnecessary since the quote <div> already breaks line. If anything, you should be removing a `<br>` after a quote. For some reason, there even appears to be a trailing `<br>` at the end of the comment, which isn't present in other comments, even though it doesn't end on a quote.
Note I removed the `"` marks. I think you should leave it up to the user to add them, if they want. If you want to visually emphasize that the box contains a quote, I would use CSS to put a big stylized closing quote mark in the top right corner of the `<div>`. For example:
PS: Using ``` for code blocks would be nice, even if full markdown is out of reach.
PPS: Looks like the single line `code` blocks are html-escaping their contents, and then displaying them literally. I think I would avoid using <code> and instead use <p> with some styling to use a monospace font, add a border, change background color, etc.

I'm still in the process of consolidating all code. This place was really thrown together to get something up as fast as possible, and my coding knowledge was archaic at the time.
While we're using mobile browsers, it would be cool if we could see if we had a reply or message. Maybe turn the three little lines red or move the envelope out from under them.
The only substantial issue I have is constantly being signed out. Between my devices I have to sign in probably 10-15 times per day. Pretty annoying fam. GLHF!
I have to login like once a day. That's with ticking the option to remember me.
I suspect it's a matter of the age set in the cookie, but that's presumptuous at best. If it is that simple to fix it, I'd suggest making it every 28 or 30 days. That'd be 2419200 seconds for 28 days, or 2592000 seconds if you want 30 days. (In my experience that stuff is usually done in seconds, but I am assuming again.)

LOL And no, I hadn't read this earlier! I'm a motherfuggin' prophet!
I guess they'll be enabled on comments soon.
After that, hopefully we'll get live tab changes to indicate new messages. I'd love to see that.
Hell, if we have that, I won't even complain about not being able to sticky a thread and have it appear in 'all'!

The issue appears to be that you're inserting additional <br>s. This is unnecessary since the quote <div> already breaks line. If anything, you should be removing a `<br>` after a quote. Compare; top as is, bottom as should be: https://a.uguu.se/ZbWBkylj.png
As for merging, I think ideally the quotes in my comment should look like this:
https://a.uguu.se/MFTbBLwH.png
Note I removed the `"` marks. I think you should leave it up to the user to add them, if they want. If you want to visually emphasize that the box contains a quote, I would use CSS to put a big stylized closing quote mark in the top right corner of the `<div>`. For example:
```
.quotebox2::before {
position: absolute;
font-family: Arial;
top: 0;
right: 8px;
content:"\201D";
font-size: 50px;
color: rgba(0,0,0,0.2);
}
```
