Miami is trash too. There is only a small uptown in Miami that is decent. The rest of Miami is a shithole full of homeless crazies all over.

It's only going to get worse, rents are ridiculously high, and with the tech bubble bursting and the crypto money drying up has slowed things down. Compound that with the fact that summers here are pretty uncomfortable weather wise, which means fewer tourists, which means the economy slows down. From here until ~ the end of August is tough if you don't have savings.

Probably small towns with a tight knit sense of community are decent enough. Big cities have the disadvantage of being crowded with strangers.

White garage owners, I don't have room in my condo for a 20 ton hydraulic press which I needed to press in new wheel bearings and hubs into my rear spindles. White guy charged me $320 to press them in, I could have bought the press for that, and I should have, cause the fucker installed them backwards. So I had to buy new bearings at my cost, and had to cut off the inner race to save the hubs because no one here had new ones, and I didn't want to be without a car for a week while I waited for new hubs. All in I spent $450 because the shop had white people in it and I decided I could trust them. I should have just bought the fucking press, would have been done right the first time.

This isn't the only thing that people fuck up around here, it's just the straw that broke the camel's back.

He pressed them out and in again at no further cost, but I had to separate the bearing from the hub, mostly because I stopped trusting him to do things right. I also hawked over him while he pressed them in and told him what to do each step of the way. As someone who works on cars I know how annoying it is when someone tells you how to do your job, but he showed he wasn't capable of doing it himself.

Agreed, I do everything on my own vehicles and looked after a few relations /close friends vehicles. Been doing it 30 years, they always come to me because it's done correctly and their vehicle is safe with good quality parts, I do t know if over there you have issues with parts, here in the UK a lot of car parts now are utter shit and made in China or worse still, India, I refuse to use them, I have seen the issues with such simple things as brake pads that are nearly new coming away from there backings , no thanks, do it once and do it right. I feel your pain, I honestly don't trust anyone to do stuff on my vehicles, my friend has a shop and so if I need to use a lift or press, that's where I go .

I only use OEM or better parts on my car, sometimes they're a little cheaper because I go straight to the manufacturer instead of buying through the dealership, or order straight from Japan. Or because the parts are used in a lot of different models reducing cost through economies of scale, for example, OEM coil packs are $130 each, while the same coil packs direct from Denso are like $50, same part, no OEM markup.
