I hate to talk about myself but sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. My missus complains endlessly about all the dishes she has to wash. I offer to help but ...request denied. There are so many dirty dishes to wash because she insists on (a) cooking food (instead of eating it raw); and (b) cooking complicated food. It's delicious but I'd prefer my simple fare without the whinging. When we go away for the day, she packs a three course picnic hamper where I'd bring a few handfuls of cashew nuts. There's something very deep and primal about the relationship females have with food.

No you don't. I've yet to meet a pool owner happy with their acquisition. I read how one pool owner extolled the benefits of pool-ownership to everyone he met because he didn't want to be the only turkey who got one!

I really hate to agree with neri, but he's right. Pools are a fuckload of expense, obligation, and maintenance, and if you're not going to use it frequently, it's a drain on your household budget.

This is true. It’s a lot of work to have a pool. Plus you gotta keep a constant eye on your kids and dumb pets too.

I would be happy with the gesture, but I’m not a foodie and I like everything very plain without sauces and condiments. I’d be happier with a woman’s cleaning than cooking. I can feed myself.l better than she can me.

...and another example of where women make life unnecessarily difficult for themselves in the kitchen. When I've had my bowl of grub and the food embers are still warm I grab a tissue, moisten it and wipe out the remains and dump the tissue in the compost. The bowl is almost clean so when washing-up occurs there's no soaking or scrubbing to get rid of calcified cheese or whatever. But the female would rather finish off her glass of wine or continue watching tv. And then the bitches call us efficient men "anal" because we are not only more efficient than them but a lot less slovenly.

Agree and agree absolutely. People have gone silly over food. In my last and final workplace, we'd have a christmas lunch. The workplace was in a town centre surrounded by restaurants serving every type of cuisine but some idiot would get it in their head to drag 30 or so people across town to "try something different". Like, the madness of unnecessarily making people travel on the roads, particularly at a dangerous time of the year; the cost for petrol...bizarre!
