I resonate with your pain. During my college years (which was really being a young adult with no money, car, or ability to afford college) I spent a lot of time at McDonalds since I didn't have a kitchen to cook or store food. Starbucks was my oasis. Coffee and cigarettes.

Anyway, the cheap survival meals of the previous era iare gone. Fast food is no longer a thing. You go to McDonalds and you’re going to pay Chipoltle or Panera prices. At least Panera will give you a decent place to sit.

Chicken's ~$2.75/lb here, for the boneless, skinless breasts, usually sold in ~$8-$12 packs. Lettuce is like, $0.70, cheapo buns are $1.78, tomatoes are $1/lb, and mayo is...

Uh, I forget. Last I bought mayo was an olive-oil(non-soy/HFCS) based one and it was $7 for the small bottle. The cheapo shit (akin to McDick's) should be under $2 though.

Do they put cheese or onions on those? Pickles? Fuck, it's been a long time. So long I vaguely remember getting one for a dollar while drunk.

Point is, you can make a large batch of them for yourself for cheaper. And healthier. And more filling with less calories and less chemical garbage. And 99% less nigger spit.

And that's assuming you get the cheapest store-brand stuff available. You can spring for better stuff if you want. It does change the flavor profile though.

I've done similar plenty of times before. I once spent ~$25 on subway-like sandwich stuff. I got utterly sick of hoagies by the end of the week lol. But it was fun and cheap and much healthier for sure.

The time I did my own orange chicken was amazing. It was a very nice tangy orange flavor with much reduced sugars than anything else out there.

"Deluxe" cheeseburgers are around 500cal and surprisingly cheap. Once you get the tomato and onions cut and sealed in the fridge it's really easy to make as well. Hell, I sometimes use my Ninja to "grill" 4 of the patties and have 3 read-to-go for later. You can set it up to the point that it takes ~2min to make one for lunch.

BLT wraps are great as well. Bake a thing of bacon, put the cooked bacon on some paper towels on a plate or something, then stick it in the freezer. Cut tomatoes and some lettuce, seal into a tub or covered bowl in the fridge. Then just assemble one when you want one, takes a min or two. Keep it simple using a carb-conscious wrap, mayo and mustard, and maybe some pepper and/or onion. The crispy-cold bacon is excellent on them.

TL;DR: learn to cook.

Fuck that. I'm DLing another fkn app and putting in my info for them to sell it.
