Just received spam from American Express. They give $600 back if you spend $10,000 per month. Please, help me understand who the fuck spends $10,000 every month.

Yes, I get it, you're poor. Questions like this illustrate it.

I spend over $90k/m on the Platinum card (estate expenses) & $200k+/m on the Centurion card (business expenses, travel, asset purchases, etc).

I've purchased multiple properties on an Amex. These two cards have zero pre-set spending limit. They're basically an extension of my bank account (but much safer to use).

Buy with Amex. Pay off Amex card weekly from bank. Rinse, repeat.



The recurring theme from most of you is that you have a very hard time understanding the significant population of the planet that does not live your paycheck to paycheck existence. Your ignorance of the way the world works and your sharpness of criticism for those who have achieved more than you all sort of wrap into the reason most of you are such unhappy assholes (looking at you specifically, PWH).

What you don't understand could fill a library. You've probably never run your own business, but credit cards are mainly used by businesses, not by individuals. They're trusted for reliable transactions and provide the accounting offices with reliable redundancy regarding the expenses the company handles in the course of a month. American Express, is probably trying to bolster their share of the business transaction market, which is dominated by VISA.
