Figured this could help us understand the difference between dopamine and joy. I often hear the term dopamine thrown around like it is the only chemical that matters while neglecting the others. This chart serves to demystify that.
You’ll find an insidious fact that dopamine is NOT a molecule of joy but a molecule of discontent and excite. It calls us to seek and gather. As dopamine rises, serotonin drops. So it will serve us well to be mindful of how our minds operate. It also serves to contrast from the niggers who are unable to understand such systems.
I’ve struggled to lose weight on many different diets. Did Carnivore for 18 months a few years back and the results were fairly lackluster. After much experimentation, I realized dairy was preventing me from losing any weight. I’m not fat but I’m not as lean as I would like considering how much effort I put into my health.
Anyway, so I commit to red meat and salt only. Absolutely no dairy. Not even heavy whipping cream in coffee or butter in my eggs. Holy crap, the withdrawal was immense. Which came as a shock because I was already on a very clean ketogenic diet. Lost 10 pounds of glycogen water weight within 3 days and have been dropping by about a pound per day. Appetite has diminished. I expect to have six pack abs by summer.
And the best part: after the withdrawal, it’s incredibly easy. Just eat beef. And my mind is so clear. I feel great. Calm. No negative thoughts. Just a consistently good mood and great sleep. You don’t count calories because you won’t overeat natural real food so the caloric intake is reduced naturally.
I have skirt steak on the smoker right now. Ice Monkey, you should try this diet.
One thing I remember fondly from my youth was getting messed up and smoking cigarettes with friends around a campfire. Crazy to ponder that it was once my highest priority.
I remember taking the train downtown into the city and meeting this other young fellow from suburbia. We were both smoking. He says to me: *I hate the hustle and bustle of the city. Give me a campfire with some beers and friends in the countryside with a guitar any day over this.*
I completely agreed with his sentiment. Somehow I never forgot our brief interaction.
The Poll on putting your shopping cart away post reminded me of this, There’s a very popular building sporting two well-known franchises in town. The parking lot is fairly small but there is generally always a spot available.
In my time patronizing either location, only a handful of times have I noticed people pull right up to the front door, blocking the entrance and blocking the flow of traffic, parked directly outside while leaving their car running. Whereas everyone else has the mindfulness to park in the designated spots and not block the flow of traffic.
Guess the race/color of those that parked illegally every time.
