Hey guys. We're back.

Chat has been disabled again as someone found a way to abuse it and crash the server. For the time being, registration has been blocked on VPNs which are being used to attack the site. This is a temporary solution. With each attack we get stronger and they have to spend more of their time coming up with another way to succeed. It's clear this person has a legit hatred for what voat stands for. Which only encourages me to keep going. It wouldnt be voat without downtime, but I want to be clear, unlike voat.co this site is not going anywhere. As long as I am alive I will work on keeping this site up and going.

After looking around a bit, it looks like this person leaked one of their legit IPs. Now here's a question to all you people paranoid about your IPs, what do I do with it now?

It's an interesting watch. I'd say some of these people are definitely transhumanists on the 'inside'. Some of the things they say is curious.

Well that was weird. One moment everything was fine, the next the server is down and I can't start it. It was a bigger issue than just being "down", but I won't go into detail just to be safe. No evidence it was an attack. So it was either a fluke or something else. Anyway, we are back.

Hey guys. I need someone who I can count on to monitor the site. Your main job would be alerting me if/when the site is down or under attack. Removing spam and illegal content would also be part of the job (I don't believe I've removed any posts yet, so this is rarely used).

I already asked Cynabuns and he accepted, but I have not seen him around the site. So it's possible you'd be a team with him, or maybe someone else.

Send me a PM with your original voat name and when you visit the site in general (In morning, at work, evening, Regularly throughout day/night, etc.)

This is mainly to give me peace of mind and to not get anxious if I haven't checked the site in a few hours.

Got hit again last night by that faggot on searchvoat forum. Registered hundreds of accounts and ruined vote counts. I was able to restore most stuff but some things might be missing. Some restored posts might display inaccurate times. Will add the ability to see time stamp soon. Registration will be opened/closed depending on my ability to monitor it.

Everything deletes at 6 am, no logs kept.

I also added a full window chat. You get there by clicking the chat button, or clicking the 'global chat' label to open it in a new window.

Hey guys.

We've officially been online for over a week. I just want to thank you all for checking out the site. I had no idea what would happen after launch. Things were rough for the first few days, a couple critical issues, but I got them ironed out and things have been pretty smooth for the most part. I know there is a lot of other issues to address, particularly in ux/ui department. I hope to get to them all in the next month or two.

I think this new site has a bright future. One of the major advantages imo is the fact it was written in php. People talk shit about it, but it's easier to deploy, brings hosting costs down, makes it easier to find a host (if need be). It just made sense for this project, and I think it will be a lot more resilient than voat was. But time will tell.
